Another beautiful, covered bridge along the Ashuelot River. The first bridge was around 1832 and unliked the other bridges we saw today, provides for a pedestrian walkway on the north side of the bridge. There is a park area with parking to the north, northeast of the bridge with a memorial bell and a covered picnic pavilion with two picnic tables. At least you will not have to contend with speeding vehicles near this bridge.

The Thompson Bridge, spanning the idyllic Ashuelot River, epitomizes New Hampshire's covered bridge allure. Built in 1832, it exudes historic charm and sturdy craftsmanship, inviting visitors to step back in time. Its picturesque setting is perfect for photography and a peaceful riverside walk, making it a cherished spot for both history enthusiasts and nature lovers exploring the scenic wonders of southwestern New Hampshire.

If you like covered bridges this was part of a seven Bridge self-guided tour in the southwestern portion of New Hampshire. I personally was only able to find four of the bridges I was following a guide that I found on the internet so., best of luck. Did the tour in less than an hour with pictures and I believe they're all within a 10 mile radius. Possibly I couldn't find the other 3 Bridges because I was starting to get a little bored, I like covered bridges but after a while they all start to...
