Very beautiful place! My hubby and I have made friends with the ducks. The geese are a little stingy, but probably because Dad Goose was injured in a fishing line and has a hurt leg. Momma Goose is very protective and will hiss at you, but she will not hurt you. However she isn't very nice to the ducks, so when you are feeding them oats, make sure the geese and ducks have their separate feeding areas. (Momma Goose likes to bite other ducks). The teenager geese are friendly, tho, and will eat from your hand. Ducks are very cute and friendly, but also cautious.
Please only feed them OATS. Steel-cut is their favorite, but quick oats are also very tasty. Oats are super nutritious and healthy for ducks. DO NOT FEED THEM BREAD! BREAD IS HARMFUL FOR DUCKS AND GEESE AND HAS NO NUTRIENTS FOR THEM!
Giving a duck or goose bread is like giving a toddler candy. Now, multiply that by how many people feed them in a day. That's like giving a toddler 50 candy bars. It's not good for them. However, oats give them all the vitamins, minerals, protein, carbs, and fiber that they need to survive! Oats are the best way to feed them ❤ (ALSO they LOVE oats so much!)
Please do not overfeed them or make large messes, and do not feed them where the water is covered in guana (bird poop). Please do not harm or scare our little duck friends, and make sure that when you feed them you are FAR AWAY from any fishermen. We don't want anymore accidents that harm our beautiful waterfowl friends!! Daddy Goose can barely walk because a fishermen was not careful enough and poor guy got...

There's a public bathroom that is open even in the winter.
There is a club house that can be rented for occasions. However, some renters think that means that they are renting the outside of the building. They don't. If the building renters harass you, contact the Syracuse PD or the Parks and Recreation department and they will straighten out the renters.
There are several gazebos available for picnicking, though I don't know if one has to reserve them or if it's first come, first serve. There is an air conditioned club house, too. I look forward to visiting the park in the summer and using...
