Jensen Nature Park is an incredible spot for anyone who loves spending time outdoors. It’s beautifully maintained and has something for everyone, whether you’re into orienteering, birdwatching, or just enjoying a peaceful walk by the pond. For those into orienteering, this park is a great choice. The open fields, winding trails, and variety of terrain make it an ideal place to practice your navigation skills. It’s a fun challenge to explore different parts of the park while sharpening your sense of direction. Birdwatchers will also love Jensen Nature Park. The park is home to a variety of birds, including red-winged blackbirds, herons, ducks, and geese. The pond in the middle of the park is a prime spot to see birds up close, and it’s also a favorite spot for families to feed the ducks. Watching the ducks and geese paddle around is always a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The walking paths are well-paved and perfect for a leisurely stroll, and there are plenty of benches along the way to sit and take in the peaceful surroundings. It’s a great place to bring kids, whether they’re learning about nature, practicing orienteering, or just enjoying the fresh air. Overall, Jensen Nature Park is a fantastic place to visit. Whether you’re there for orienteering, birdwatching, or just spending time outdoors, it’s a gem of a park that offers plenty of activities and beautiful scenery. Highly recommended for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking for a relaxing day out!

It’s a nice little place for a family visit but I didn’t see any play toys for kids. There is a place for a wedding venue to take place. Big huge pond for fishing. We did have an issue with someone flying a drone over our heads and I had to ask the guy to stop buzzing us while we’re trying to fish. He graciously complied (thank you sir). It was pretty well crowded there for fishing. All in all is was a good little trips from home.

This little pond is great for bird watching and has birdhouses all along the pond's walking trail. We love to walk around the pond because it is flat and easy to get around a few times for simple exercise. There are always people fishing and walking their dogs. My kids love the Pokémon hunting and love how well kept it is. We have done everything from baby pictures to graduation parties at this park.

Very beautiful place! My hubby and I have made friends with the ducks. The geese are a little stingy, but probably because Dad Goose was injured in a fishing line and has a hurt leg. Momma Goose is very protective and will hiss at you, but she will not hurt you. However she isn't very nice to the ducks, so when you are feeding them oats, make sure the geese and ducks have their separate feeding areas. (Momma Goose likes to bite other ducks). The teenager geese are friendly, tho, and will eat from your hand. Ducks are very cute and friendly, but also cautious.

Please only feed them OATS. Steel-cut is their favorite, but quick oats are also very tasty. Oats are super nutritious and healthy for ducks. DO NOT FEED THEM BREAD! BREAD IS HARMFUL FOR DUCKS AND GEESE AND HAS NO NUTRIENTS FOR THEM!

Giving a duck or goose bread is like giving a toddler candy. Now, multiply that by how many people feed them in a day. That's like giving a toddler 50 candy bars. It's not good for them. However, oats give them all the vitamins, minerals, protein, carbs, and fiber that they need to survive! Oats are the best way to feed them ❤ (ALSO they LOVE oats so much!)

Please do not overfeed them or make large messes, and do not feed them where the water is covered in guana (bird poop). Please do not harm or scare our little duck friends, and make sure that when you feed them you are FAR AWAY from any fishermen. We don't want anymore accidents that harm our beautiful waterfowl friends!! Daddy Goose can barely walk because a fishermen was not careful enough and poor guy got...

Coming from the Mojave desert 🏜, it's nice to see water and lots of birds. Apparently, fishing is also allowed.

There's a public bathroom that is open even in the winter.

There is a club house that can be rented for occasions. However, some renters think that means that they are renting the outside of the building. They don't. If the building renters harass you, contact the Syracuse PD or the Parks and Recreation department and they will straighten out the renters.

There are several gazebos available for picnicking, though I don't know if one has to reserve them or if it's first come, first serve. There is an air conditioned club house, too. I look forward to visiting the park in the summer and using...
