The Amicalola Falls Visitor Center is super nice with convenient parking. It’s a newer building. On the inside, you’ll find a mini cafe offering pre-packaged foods, drinks, and caffeinated beverages (coffee, lattes). You’ll also find a gift store and an informative section talking more about wildlife and other things found in the area. I’ve visited a couple of times and no matter how busy, the staff is always very nice and informative of where to go to see certain things (what part of the trails may be closed, where to best see the falls, etc.). After fearing for her safety due to excessive cold, I was asked to call this VC as she was near it. ABSOLUTELY barely any way to contact them. No number listed besides that of the resort. After googling for 5-8 minutes I found A number and had gotten in contact. Apparently, according to them, black gap is 80 miles from them and somehow not in amicalola state park???(it's literally only 16 miles and a 50 minute drive on typical roads) so they refused. She had to call 911 instead.
Good luck getting actual safety help from amicalola park Rangers as...
