Bear Ridge Paintball — Attraction in Talking Rock

Today I took our boys (9 & 11) out to Bear Ridge and it was top notch. For context, I played from 1995-96 until 2004-05, and then basically walked away for 20 years. Last year the boys and I started playing some woodsball and it reignited my love of the sport. I took them Bear Ridge today so they could experience speedball. We came with my (recently rebuilt) Tippmann 68-Carbine and a Dye Rize CZR I picked up to test the modern electro marker scene. We expected to rent the boys some guns for the day, and I’d play with the entry-level CZR.

It was a bit slow today due to weather, with just the boys and I there, with a few divisional players/semi-pros running drills. The amazing owners (Josh and Kristen) insisted we each use one of their personal markers. We ended up using their LV2, CS2, and CS3. We all had a grand time, and the boys now want to go back every weekend, to join their youth league, and for me to do some tryouts too. Oh, and they want to bring all of their friends and our neighbors.

We visited for the first time as my son had been beginning to go however the place we go was closed. I did some research found this place and booked a time. When we got there we were given instructions of how and where we were going to be. David and his wife Jennifer were beyond helpful, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we were taking care with all the gear. Jennifer told all about the place, the structure for kids and love that they are a family friendly focus and all about events. We will definitely be back thanks to this wonderful experience. We went to the paintball haunted opening, and I’m so impressed! This is such a good, wholesome experience that’s truly starting from the ground up and growing, and that’s exactly the kind of thing I love supporting.

It was entertaining, interactive, and genuinely fun! The staff were so nice and actually took the time to make sure everyone was having a great time. You can tell they really care about the experience they’re creating.
