Navigation there is pretty straightforward, depending on which direction youāre coming from you may pass some residential homes but there is clear signage as you get close. A $5 parking fee is encouraged and based on the honor system. Simple outpost style bathroom, it was clean when my group was there. The trail is quite narrow and not suitable for children under 6. Itās very steep at the beginning as you start your descent to the viewing points. Once you get to the bridge you can either keep going and explore some trails that will lead you to the water, or turn around and follow the signs to the overlook, a small wooden platform on which you can see the cascading water. Without going down to the water the trail only takes about half an hour or so, at a moderate pace and allowing time for pictures. The trail itself is quite remote and isnāt nearby any gas stations or stores. Although there have been many reports of this yearās (2018) ticks being particularly bad, my group didnāt suffer any bites. Be sure to apply heavy wood DEET bug spray and stay away from the trees, though. Also, if youāre not from the area, be aware that isolated thunderstorms are a normal occurance nearly every afternoon in the summer, so the earlier the...

Easy enough for an almost 5 year old, but be prepared for LOTS of roots and there are several spots with a steep drop off beside the trail. Trail is narrow; be prepared to hold little hands during these steep spots. There is a bridge to walk over, but the guards are pretty lacking in my opinion, and a curious kiddo or smaller dog could definitely fall through the guards if they werenāt being watched carefully, so be extra mindful and hold little hands. The hike down to the water is rather steep, but there are lots of places to relax and rest up at the bottom. Bring a picnic or a snack for the little ones. It is definitely worth hiking down to the water. There is a small trail to the left with a nice side view of some falls. We took our time and took about an hour and a half from parking the car to getting...
