Aman Park in Ottawa County, just west of Grand Rapids, is a great place for a walk in the woods. Any season is good. The trails are very well maintained and good in the summer or under snow cover. In general, the trails are well marked, with some exceptions where trails meet and the direction to go may be unclear. However, the park is pretty hard to get really lost in. Lots of elevation change from the parking area down to Sand Creek, so this provides for some nice views across the small valley. Lots of dog lovers use the park, but only saw the dogs and not what might need to be picked up. Did see some aphids on the beech trees. Let's hope those are not the extremely destructive variety. A hardy wheelchair user might be able to navigate some of the trails. However, in at least one place a tree limb blocked the trail. Could walk around it, but wheeling around would be problematic. Some of the trail is...

My family and I love this park, however today had a strange experience with a fellow hiker and wanted to put it out there. A strange man walked up behind my daughter and I silently on the bridge and stood very close and commented on a bruise on my daughters leg without a hello or anything. It was strange, then he noticed my husband and other children up ahead and proceeded to them and our dog was imeadiately spooked by him. Our dog is a very friendly laberdoodle and was afraid of this man, not usually afraid of anyone. They guy asked a few more strange prying questions then walked ahead and left. We later saw him driving out in a white truck, and it seemed pretty normal. We will continue to frequent this park, but will be bringing the pepper spray next time. Stay...

One of over 40 beautiful public parks, trails and wilderness areas in Ottawa County, MI (although this one is owned by the City of Grand Rapids), Aman Park offers miles of well-planned trails through over 300 acres of natural woods and along (and over) the pristine beauty of Sand Creek. In Winter, many of the trails are available for Cross Country skiing; leashed dogs are welcome.

Aman Park has some historical significance, related on markers along the trails, and was the home of the Grand Rapids Arboretum for many years. With multiple trails, some easy and some more demanding, it's a wonderful...

Aman Park is a hidden gem! The well-maintained trails wind through beautiful wildflowers and towering trees, creating a peaceful, remote feel—even on a nice Saturday evening, it wasn’t crowded. I loved how clearly the trails were marked with colors and signs, which made exploring stress-free. Pro tip: snap a photo of the main trail map at the entrance if you plan to venture off. The large bridge near the end of the main trail was my favorite—it felt like being up north or back in the Pacific Northwest. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying every trail!

I go for the nature and the trails! Space free parking (no lines) there are massive trials great for hiking, or even cross country skiing. (I've not actually done any ccs here but it'd be nice). Good amount of parking. I've never been inside the buildings here, just come to enjoy the river and the trees, birds etc. Good for a date. A lonely stroll or family time. I've seen people fishing, must be a coming spot. Lots to see. Still a bit cold but yes they are open so stop by and enjoy the bliss of nature!
