River Side Park in Grand Rapids, MI, is a stunning location that offers a diverse range of outdoor activities. The park's beauty is captivating, making it an excellent spot for walking, jogging, biking, and even dog walking. The scenic views and well-maintained trails create a perfect atmosphere for relaxation and exercise.

The disc golf course adds an exciting dimension to the park, providing an enjoyable experience for disc golf enthusiasts of all skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned player or a beginner, you'll find plenty of fun challenges on the course.

However, it's essential to be cautious while strolling along the riverbank. There's waist-high poison ivy covering some areas, so it's crucial to be mindful of your surroundings and stay on designated paths to avoid any unwanted encounters.

Additionally, for those interested in boating, the park offers a convenient boat launch, making it easy to explore the waterways and enjoy a leisurely day on the river.

Overall, River Side Park in Grand Rapids is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. With its beautiful scenery, diverse activities, and disc golf course, it's an ideal place to spend quality time in nature. Just remember to be mindful of the poison ivy and follow the designated paths to ensure a safe and...

What an enormous park! Constantly getting maintenance, though not intrusively. It's peaceful. It's popular, and very busy at times, but not without space to spare when it is. They have a lot of parking within, as well as parallel parking on the roadside outside of the gates. Boaters seem to never be congested, bathrooms (prison style toilets but clean and stalls to separate the toilets in the women's . Multiple playgrounds, disc golf courses, ball fields, picnic tables and grills (some with cover). My favorite part of this park is the bird population. Lots of geese (and goslings right now!). Ducks, robins and small birds too. I've seen blue herons, hawks, and a Balde Eagle. If I could change one thing, I would loooove to have an enclosed/fenced area for off-leash dogs to run, play, and get the stimulation they need. I bring my dog each time. Lots of people walking their...

(Follow up: after seeing other pics, it appears we were on the backside of the park -- away from the main area). Adequate. Play area is intact -- Older, but serviceable. Bathrooms are inop, but there is a clean porta-potty. Pond is green and full of duckweed. Geese and accompanying poop are not in short supply. There was a large area by the play area that had numerous ground dwelling giant iridescent wasps -- pretty, but foreboding. People did seem to be enjoying the running trail. Aside from the guy pictured, most seemed to also enjoy the frisbee golf course.

Big beautiful clean park. There is so much space to spread out and so many different activities you can do here. One can play frisbee golf (course set up), fish, picnic, bike, observe the river. Tons of trees to keep it shady. But come prepared. The bathrooms are not convenient!! A great family park to spread out but plan accordingly! Each section (very long park) tends to have it's own designation for what one might want to do there. We enjoyed it for sure (team meeting). The squirrels are friendly.
