Read moreI lived on Mill Creek Rd in 1961 in the summer.... not long. There was a State "Hospital" right in the area of this temple. I was wondering if this temple is in the same location, as that Hospital had a bad reputation of a lot of abuse, and closed. Going east as you go up the hill in the woods, on Mill Creek Rd there were a couple of reservoirs as you head in to the Cow Mountain Recreational area. Very neat area. The dam there looks gated off to people now. Saftey thing I'm sure.Going there...
Read moreVisited 'The City of Ten Thousand Buddhas', Ukiah (California, USA) with family on June 28, 2025. It is a beautiful place in serene ambience and charming landscape. The visitor center has a small museum depicting paintings pertaining to the Buddha and the founder of the place Chinese monk venerable Hsuan Hua(1918-1995). The first precept(Seel) of Buddhism is Paanaatipaataa(compassion towards living beings). This is the rare place where vegetarianism is followed in true spirit. The only restaurant in the complex has only vegetarian dishes. I would love to visit the place again and believe a spiritual person will like the place. Namo Buddhaya ! Namo Guru Hsuan Hua ! ---- D D Dikshit, ...
