Blackwater Hammock — Attraction in Tampa

Spartan but nice for a quiet picnic. Has a primitive trail near the river which brings you back in a loop. Saw raccoons, squirrels and several song birds (thrashers, catbirds and cardinals). We enjoyed a quiet picnic on a wooden table under a shade tree. The woods are thick with pines and water oaks and filled with vines including red passion flowers.
