Compton Park — Attraction in Tampa

Ran into my first Karen today in Tampa Palms! Went to this park since I pay an HOA fee for these amenities.. This lady security guard who is terribly bleached blonde decides to walk over out of her way into the open field where my dog and husband are. Corners husband out of the car when he pulls up just to state the dog needs to be on a leash.. before the dog comes out of the vehicle. Then walks to the other end of the car to stand their until the dog gets out of the vehicle to be sure there was a leash on her. Then walks to the club house, to watch us. Then comes all the way to the field 3-4 minutes later to tell us the dog who is ON THE LEASH, that the dog can’t run playing with the tennis ball without us holding the leash. Mind you, no one was in this park and it was just her. I have met a lot of miserable, bored housewives.. This was the cherry on top for me. Find something better to do with your time then to harass a couple and a dog who is on a leash in an open field mid day with no one outside. Give me a break lady. Your behavior is disgusting. There is a security officer/ rent a cop that likes to work only when it is convenient for her because other than two previous times, I have not seen her when taking my child otherwise. However, she is extremely rude and condescending even towards children because as my son cried when she wouldn’t let us in this most recent time, she looks down at him and said you can’t come in today. I have seen her another time before this and she just asked me to write down my address and zip. I thought it was weird but whatever I live in Henley Tampa Palms so it wasn’t like I had anything to hide. This most recent time though she said she needed to see my ID and a piece of Mail for verification. I told her I had never had to do that previously and told her the last time I came with a friend of mine (who was African American) and me (a Hispanic woman) she had given us a hard time with just signing the form when we asked when this started to be an implemented thing. And I bring up our races because she never asked an older white couple bringing their granddaughter or another white family for their information. So if it’s protocol like she’s saying, EVERYONE...

DO NOT GO! I was approached immediately by a lady security guard and was told this playground is not for just anyone when I walked up with my 3 year old... lol. She made me sign in and said she would allow it today but it's private community property.... Baaahaha I find it odd that any kid and their mother is denied access to a park (especially one that no one is using). I don't blame the guard, but this community needs to find better use of their funding and should spend their money on more important improvements in the neighborhood versus harassing a mom and the 3 year old on an unused playground. And it was filled with ants and kinda dirty so we will never be returning. wanted to warn future residents....
