Whippletree Winery — Attraction in Tamworth

We just felt like we were visiting a friend’s place; that’s the best way I can describe Whippletree Winery. You know their wine is good when you head home with five bottles after your tasting!

We loved everything about this winery. We stumbled upon it during our trip to Center Harbor, and wow — I can’t wait to return. As soon as we got off the car, we were welcomed by the staff, who invited us in and asked where we were visiting from. They were so friendly!

We opted to sit outside due to the nice weather and had the most pleasant afternoon doing their $15 tasting, which included 5 of their wines. You get to pick any of their wines for the tasting, even the premium ones! They do it all — reds and whites and roses and everything else in between. Their fruit wines were some of the best we’ve ever had. Our server, whose name I wish I had gotten, treated us like family.

Wow what a great product. Coming from a person who has never enjoyed wine very much through the years it was so nice to have a wine that's refreshing, flavorful and smooth also didn't linger on the pallet. I enjoyed it so much I went ahead and ordered a few bottles from home for delivery. This is were this place also is above and beyond... it was a holiday weekend so I figured a couple days extra on the shipping. I called to check just being curious. I got a call back from the owner who was on vacation very far away a few hours later. So polite and professional world class customer service. Charming atmosphere. Delicious wine. Wonderful hosts. My husband and I stopped by for a quick visit. When we walked in, the handful of people that were there created a fun, friendly environment. The two women behind the bar were knowledgeable, friendly and extremely enjoyable to chat with. I tasted the most delicious white wines! They had, hands down, the BEST Riesling I have ever had!
