When road tripping through the Taos area we needed a place to late the pooch stretch her legs. After Googling around we came across this park and after stopping by, it was a great decision in the end. Even on a Saturday evening there were not a ton of folks around and there was plenty of space to throw the ball for the dog. The vaulted toilets could use a little help as all the windows were busted out and covered in plywood on the mens side, making it difficult to make a pit stop, but other than this, I would come back for sure. There is also access to a great boardwalk walking area that goes around some wet lands that are right next to the green space. If your in the area and need some connection with some green space, swing by here for sure! Next time i'm in the area i'll stop here...
Read moreI come here fairly often, every few weeks, and my wife brings the dogs a couple of times a week. In warm weather there are usually lots of walkers (not TWD kind), kids and dogs until mid morning. That level of activity resumes mid afternoon so if you’re looking for solitude midday/early afternoon is good.
Town of Taos parks are very dog friendly with several dispensers for biodegradable poop bags in each. Fred Baca park adjoins wetlands and has a walkway elevated just enough for dry walking.

Read moreMy dog and I have been walking here for years, and with the addition of public access to the adjoining Taos Land Trust tract, it is a dynamite wetland park for birding and wildlife watching right in town. Views of mountains juxtaposed with the basin's expanse of marshland create the illusion that you are far deeper into nature than you actually are. So you could say that is an ideal municipal park.
