Kentucky Taylorsville Lake — Attraction in Taylorsville

The good: Spring time bass, crappie and white bass fishing is great. 4 and 5 lb bass are not that uncommon in my boat with the occasional 6 pounder. Starting in March we begin limiting out on nice crappie 9-11 inches in length. This time of year you can also start finding the white bass down around the start of the lake. Summer brings some great catfishing with 20-30 pounders to the lucky ones.

The bad: Starting in late spring the lake receives a ton of boating and fishing pressure. Get out early and late to avoid the pleasure boaters.

Great Lake but poor planning. It is IMPOSSIBLE to launch or trailer your boat here most times of the day in the spring/summer. Dock needs to be MUCH longer to allow people to tie off boats when going to get their vehicle. No thought put into this ramp...
