Cassidy Arch is a great destination trail.
Firstly, don't believe the Ranger if s/he tells you the road to the trailhead is "an improved dirt road". The road is uneven and has large sharp rocks sticking out of the dirt. It is not a great road, but if you take it slowly you can make it just fine in any type of vehicle.
Be aware that the trailhead supports two trails and has limited parking. You may want to go early to guarantee a spot.
The trail starts out on Grand Wash for a short while, which is OK but the real fun begins when you fork left at the sign and proceed to go up the side of the mountain. The trail is rocky with switchbacks and elevation gain. This is the most strenuous part of the hike. You'll reach an obvious summit and the hike is moderate thereafter. You get nice scenery and partial views of the arch from afar as you get closer.
Don't forget to walk...

Once you're up here, you'll see signs to follow to the Campground & Cohob Canyon - Frying Pan Trail is 3ish or so miles - up & down canyons and it's beautiful! We hiked in and out both ways - views of the mtns and Waterpocket Fold are incredible.
Adding on to your hike after Cassidy Arch is possible on top of the mountain, or in the Wash. we ended up doing about 7.5 miles adding on some at the top following Frying Pan & walking more of Grand Wash at the trailhead wash
Beautiful in the fall - hikes late Oct & early Nov - colors are still here!
Saw some big horned sheep - they watched us &...
Read moreThis is a great arch. I hiked along the Cassidy Arch Trail to get here, which was a bit strenuous, having an over 900 ft elevation change and being 1.7 miles long. It starts off with a steep ascent towards the top, but then turns into a slow and steady climb until you reach the arch. From a distance, the arch looks pretty underwhelming, but once you get up close it’s actually pretty cool. The trail was well maintained and you get nice views of the wash below throughout the trail. When you get to the arch, you can actually walk on top of it, which was quite fun. After I saw the arch, I hiked back to my car and continued on...
