10/21/2022 Update To start, this park has amazing fields. There was a lot of thought and planning done from the player prospective. The baseball and soccer fields will be fantastic for the player. However, for the baseball fields, there was limited space incorporated for spectators. The only spectator area, which is right around the concession area, is extremely limited and there are no bleachers. Spectators would need to bring their own chairs which will fill the space pretty quickly. Because of this spectator issue I have lowered overall rating to 4. I believe this could be a big issue when multiple teams are playing at the baseball fields. 10/20/2022 Review This is a brand new park just opening. It's huge and spacious with lots of baseball and soccer fields. They included paved walking trails throughout the park and a nice playground for young children. There is a lot of parking and three restroom facilities around park. They really did a nice job constructing the park, but the one negative I feel is the lack of shaded areas for warm weather usage.

Catawba Park was well planned, nicely laid out and has several bathroom buildings. This playground will get HOT in the warmer seasons as there is no shade cover and the ground is recycled materials. There was an attempt at covered benches for parents but they don’t offer much shade. I would have given this five stars but the park isn’t enclosed with a fence. I was a little surprised at the lack of swings or zip line. There is a structure for each age “up to” 12. There are paved walkways throughout the entire park, ball parks, a concrete stage, and plenty of parking. Bring your skates, bikes, balls and more. The overall grounds are beautiful!

We liked it. It seemed like it was pretty new (either that or well taken care of). A really neat playground for kids to play on and it was a pretty big playground. It has benches located around the playground and more than a few of them are shaded (which is really nice). That way you can sit right there and watch the kiddos play. A lot of places to park here and multiple bathrooms on-site. Rock climbing wall at this playground. A lot of different styles of slides. A boat that rocks back and forth. Paths to walk the dog on. Huge fields out here and an amphitheater. Baseball fields to the right of the playground. It was nice.

Warning, there are a few things that you ought to know before visiting this park during a concert event. First of all, be careful where you sit or you might be dodging a football or soccer ball. My chair got hit then my leg and I had enough. You can’t enjoy the music when children throw a football and play while the concert is going on. There are plenty of areas for them to play and it doesn’t have to be where folks sit and enjoy a nice concert. We got there early and there was not many people and thought it was a nice place. My fiancé wears glasses and I sure was glad she wasn’t hit. We moved several times before we finally found a safe enough place to sit. Hopefully you all can announce designated areas for kids to play without this unfortunate incident happening to anyone else. This was our first and last time...
