My mom had recently moved up to Tehachapi and I wanted to find something fun to do while visiting her! I had found this cute little place to do wine tasting! I called the day before to see if I had an appointment but Beth was so sweet and told me to just come on in and let me know that they do a fun little live music open mic on Sundays starting at 2. Just the experience of talking to Beth on the phone made me really excited to go in! My mom, Step Dad, Brother and I came in and were greeted by Linda she gave us the run down of all the wines on the menu. We stuck with red and really enjoyed most of them! The pours we're about one ounce and my favorite was the cab! We also got a platter with salami, cheese, olives, "frog balls", grapes, an apple, lemon cake, bread, and a really yummy spread. I liked the spread so much that I asked Beth if she sold it, she said that she didn't but gave me the recipe!! She was really the sweetest and made us feel so welcome. The man playing the music did a really good job and he played a variety of songs, my favorite being the cover of America. The building was really nice and homey but still a fun place to go out. They have options for the bar, a table, or the patio. We walked around outside and there were stairs that went up to a little picnic table. I don't know if you can bring the wine up there but it was nice. They also informed us of their Friday night dinners and also their Summer concerts that we are looking forward to...
Read moreI had the opportunity to visit Tehachapi Wine & Cattle Company winery Friday. It was such a wonderful experience I came back the next day! I live in NorCal so I've been to many of Napa's world-renown wineries. The first thing I sensed after arriving at Tehachapi winery was peace. There is space to breathe, the close rolling hills to enjoy, listening to two rescued donkeys hee-hawing in the distance, watching a beautiful horse strolling in a very large corral, seeing a chicken coop so high-end my mouth watered thinking about the quality of eggs the Tehachapi "chicks" produce, and the calm of walking around their vineyard. While the tasting room and gift shop is closed due to Covid-19, the owners, Beth and Mike, are very conscientious about safe distancing to protect all guests with their impeccable hospitality. They provide constant attention to detail to make sure everyone is comfortable, and depending on guests' preference they give expert advice on which wines to taste, explain the winery's fascinating history, barn, home, guesthouse, boutique and vineyard. Chardonnay is my favorite wine and theirs is delicious but I surprised myself by loving their 2017 Primitivo! My experience was A+! This is my favorite winery...
Read moreMy wife and I moved to area in early Oct of 2022. I love wine so began my journey by visiting five of the established wineries in Tehachapi. My top three were Dorner, Triassic and Tehachapi Wine and Cattle. However, hands down my favorite is Tehachapi Wine and cattle. Three things stood out to me the wine quality, The friendliness of the staff ( Kim and Lori🤩) and the two amazing owners who make your visit so enjoyable ( Mike and Beth our very own Norway girl❤️. The charcuterie boards here are my humble opinion one of the best values in all Wine land I’ve been to Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Lodi and other Wine regions in Oregon and Washington State and the quality and quantity will satisfy even the hungriest of appetites for two to three. All we need is the city of Tehachapi and the winery owners to come up with directional signage for our wine trail of of our beautiful wineries with amazing views of the valleys and the surrounding oak and pine covered hills. Come visit this beautiful town and it’s wineries and enjoy what I newly discovered is the friendliest town which so remind me of Main Street USA...
