We have been members at Chapin for years. We encouraged many of our friends to join. As a friend group, we have enjoyed many brunches and many bottles of wine. It is one of our “groups” favorite things to do together. Today, we were relegated to the picnic area for our brunch. We were okay with that. Then, we were told that our group was too large-there were 12 of us. All of us are members but apparently we can’t all hang out together at the same time, even if we have in the past because we exceeded the 6 person limit, Also, we were given a 2 hour limit. At exactly 2 hours, the misters were shut off and we were asked to reassemble at the members only area. We moved without complaint but there were NO misters in the members only area and we weren’t allowed to take any outside food. Remember, we just had that food in a different area of the winery. Plus, the non-members had misters. The fact that we are members and had no misters but non-members had misters was another mark against Chapin. It was over 100 degrees. In addition, we had to buy a case of wine. Everyone was willing to pitch in but the winery opened every single bottle. That was a lot of wine for our group to drink. We thought that we were going to take home an unopened bottle of wine to enjoy at our leisure. I am saddened because many members of our group said they will not renew membership. We don’t require much from the staff and we always clean up. I have always said that Chapin was our favorite winery and encouraged others to try it but I don’t think I will recommend it in the future. Chapin always felt like our special, boutique winery. Now, it feels like one of the bigger, commercial wineries...
Read moreChapin Family Vineyards in Temecula is a true hidden gem, offering an intimate and welcoming wine-tasting experience with some of the finest handcrafted wines in the region. Nestled at the end of Rancho California Road, this boutique winery is known for its small-batch, high-quality wines and its relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
One of the standout offerings at Chapin is their Blood of Judas wine, an absolute must-try for any wine lover. This rich, velvety red is bold yet perfectly balanced, delivering deep notes of dark berries, spice, and a hint of chocolate. Its smooth finish and complex flavors make it one of the most memorable wines in Temecula, truly setting Chapin apart from other wineries in the valley. Whether you’re enjoying it in the tasting room or out on the patio overlooking the vineyards, every sip is an experience in itself.
The staff at Chapin is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their wines, making each visit personal and enjoyable. The serene, uncrowded setting allows you to fully appreciate the beauty of wine country without the hustle and bustle of larger wineries. If you’re looking for top-quality wines and an intimate tasting experience, Chapin is a must-visit. Highly...
Read moreI visited with friends as part of the Temecula Wine & Jeep Tours. Out of all of the wineries we visited during our stay, Chapin Family Vineyards offered the best tasting wine and the best experience by far. Our sommelier was Le Roy. He was fantastic, and let us try pretty much everything. After our tasting we ordered a bottle of the Grand Reserve; had to! Weather was way too perfect to leave and after having such great service, we felt the only way make it more perfect was to enjoy Mr. Chapin’s best wine right there overlooking the vineyard.
Had it not been for Temecula Jeep Tours, we probably would not have visited Chapin as it doesn’t appear to be in the top results of Temecula wineries on Google when you search. This place was much smaller and understated compared to the rest of the wineries in the valley. It felt special/exclusive, off the beaten path, and the people at the tables on the patio around us seemed to be locals. Bottles were pricier than the average winery in Temecula, even with the wine club discounts they are still $50-$70 bottles, but truly on another level. Can’t wait to visit again...
