My Husband and I booked this tour due to wanting to visit Temecula and have a wine tasting tour and visit numerous vineyards as it is hard to choose just one as they are all beautiful.
We booked a week before and socal wasn’t our first choice but other websites were fully booked. The website and description and reviews were all very professional and we chose the “late tour” 2-6pm.
This tour is advertised as a wine tasting tour, transport between 3 wineries and samples of wine. I have read reviews about how informative the “tour guides” are and will describe each vineyard and tell you some history about them.
This is not a wine tasting tour! We were ushered onto a mini bus and straight away rap music was played very loud whilst other parties sung and danced. It was a 4 minute drive to the first winery (we could have got an Uber and been a lot more comfortable) we were shown to a table with another party, given a glass of something and given a tiny ticket to cross off extra tastings. We were then left to ourselves and did not see the bus driver until he came to pick us up for the 2nd winery.
It was a 7 minute drive to the next winery, again having to deal with loud music on the “party bus” and groups of women dancing. I was asked a couple of days prior to order lunch as it would not be available to order on the day and this would be served at the 2nd winery. Ordered cheese and charcuterie board. Bus driver disappeared as soon as dropping us off. Enquired at the winery about lunch and was told they didn’t have a restaurant and didn’t serve any extras. The only good thing was that I wasn’t charged for this, but obviously not impressed as spent the majority of the time wandering around searching for answers and food. Also not a wine “tour” as advertised, but simply dropped and left at basically a bar, as no information or tour is given of the winery or vineyard.
The 3rd winery things seemed to pick up when we were told we would be provided with a wine tour and visit of the cellar. This got my hopes up only to be let down again as the man running the tour was not informative, he was catering to mainly women and hen parties making jokes and I still don’t know any more about wine than I did when I began the “tour”
Once the “tour” was over, we were only given 2 tickets at this place for tastings (not as advertised) and once we tried to get the tastings so we could leave, we were told they had ran out of white wine! I didn’t think it could get any worse but for a winery to run out of white wine is unacceptable. My Husband was then forced to ask for red wine which came chilled.
I would never book a wine tour through this company again. I was extremely disappointed that it is not clear what you are booking, this cannot be sold as a “wine tour” Even if you were a hen party or big group of women, It may seem like value for money but you would get more value by taking a taxi to a number of bars and just buying some wine and asking the bar staff for...
Read moreI purchased a birthday package for my 40th birthday for almost 1100.00.
As nice as the driver Moses/owner was, (in which I found out he was the owner during my call to customer service during our 2nd mediocre wine tasting stop)) was really disappointed with our experience.
It was not really like a wine tasting tour as you may think. 3 of the 3 wineries did not provide 6 tastings as stated on the tours itenerary it was only 4 or 5 tastings per winery. Also only 1 of the 3 wineries let you choose the wines you wanted to try. It was white, red or sweet at masia winery, 5 pre selected wines at oak mountain winery but somerset winery we could choose all but the first( 3 more). The wineries included in the tour were ok, but not great.
When I asked about the number of tastings each winery had, the driver/ owner Moses made me feel dumb( intentional or not ) at the last winery indicating that there are four tastings but are almost 2 oz each.
I don't know about any other groups, but if I'm paying over 100 per person and am told I have limited selection if any at the included wineries makes me a little upset for the little time u are actually in the " party bus".
We were a group of 10 that paid over 1000.00 and there was another party of 4 with us. We are larger women, no not huge, but the bus to share was really small and tight with the 14 of us and is supposed to fit 15 ppl. Maybe 15 petite ppl. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem paying the price, but to not get to try wines u may like and told that you get 18 tastings between 3 wineries, makes me feel as if it was false advertising. We were told we were given 1.5 oz pours and that's why we only got 4 tastings at a location. Very misleading in my opinion if true. Although that winery did end up providing the 6 tastings but indicated the tour company provided misleading information as they only provide 4 1.5 oz pours for your groups.
I believe we could have easily done this tour with UBER AND PAID HALF considering we drove to Temecula ourselves and were maybe in the " party bus" for a total of 40 minutes and most of our so called 18 tastings were minimal. The company was providing services back and forth between us(12 o'clock pick up) and the 11am tour.
It is really a shame. For those who appreciate a tour that chooses your wine tasting, you may like it. Moses did open 2 bottles of wine for "free" but indicated we can tip extra if we'd like. We bought bottles from wineries due to lack of accomodations of the tasting themselves. Due to the company I had, made this a great day, however fell limo(party bus) was unnecessary...
Read moreDuring the reservation process, Moses was very accommodating and patient booking our 15 person birthday party. However, we did have a few notable issues during the winery visits. The first winery we visited was great, but we were left without a table when we were promised a private table for all 15 of us. We ended up having to stand around the bar and eat our food in the last couple minutes before leaving since we were never sat. This is after I had asked about our table multiples times, and was told it was being set up in the back (which obviously never happened). The second winery we were given 4 tastings and when our vouchers said 6. When I asked about this I was told that those are just the new rules. The third place we were given one glass of wine per person, when 6 standard tastings should have been closer to 2 glasses. So we were underserved by about 2-3 tastings at each from the last 2 places. More importantly, we didn’t actually get to “taste” any variety of wines and were not given a real winery experience (except at the first place where we had an upgrade for a BTS tour that is usually not included). We ended up paying $20 of corking fees which ultimately is understandable, but we were told we could bring our own food and drinks and not told about the fee. The gratuity was NOT included in the total price, so we ended up tipping extra. To be clear, on the phone I was old the gratuity was included in the total price, and no corking fee was mentioned. This is over 3 phone calls made before the tour day. These two things were not communicated clearly at any point in the reservation or actual tour process, so I think that needs to be noted as well. Given the new environments because of Covid, I understand things may not have been running as smoothly. Our tour guide Moses was an awesome guy and very nice. At the end of the day, I would probably go with a different wine tour company considering the price we paid was over $100 a person and we did not get tastings we were promised or experience we expected. Those in our group that had gone to other tours in Temecula can vouch for...
