Been hunting here for years!! Love Catoosa. It's a little tough to hunt but with the right skill, knowledge and maybe a little luck you can take home a nice harvest. Also a nice place to bring the family for a day hike or swim in the creek. Just watch out for snakes!!

Tons of hunting opportunities, hard hunting definitely requires you to put your boots on the ground and do your homework. There are some big deer and great game opportunities. Lots of Pigs and some Bear. Very few open hunting opportunities most are drawn quota hunts.

Vast and beautiful...Catoosa is far from anywhere but worth the drive. So many places to discover. Lilly Bluff is one of the best spots. There's river miles to discover as well as lots of animals. You should plan an adventure to Catoosa as soon as possible.

Used to love going there & camping, swimming, canoeing, riding 4-wheelers, jeeps. People who don't have respect & or regard for nature or anyone else had to ruin the camping for everyone. No longer can anyone camp down by the river. I still enjoy going there, but it's not the same. It upsets me that there was a pond with wild muscadine growing around it. I know the wild life ate them & probably used the pond. For some reason TWRA bulldozed all of them down & filled in the pond. They could have easily filled in the pond & left the muscadine growing. Or transplanted cuttings from the vines. After I was taken there the first few times I would get upset because of the garbage, litter, trash others left. I was taught not to litter. I was jokingly made fun of because I would take garbage bags. As we would drive or ride the trails, I'd clean up the trash others had thrown down. I've never understood why or how anyone could disrespect the beauty God created. Please if you go out to enjoy nature; don't leave any of your trash. Take it back & dispose of it in a proper responsible way. Including ALL beer cans or bottles. Try to leave the beauty of nature better than...

I don't hate catoosa but for a wildlife management area it is very poorly managed. A few feilds get a little and I do mean a little wheat planted for the dear and other animals every year. license are higher than ever but they are logging the state. We pay for it why is it being logged? Nobody knows where the money goes just saying beautiful place getting uglier every year just wish they would leave it alone and stop destroying it. I've talked to game wardens they don't want it logged either say it's the big shots in Nashville I remember when I was a kid the fields had corn Milo clover stuff the deer wanted planted in them every year. Now nothing what is the point in the millions of dollars in machinery they have if they can't even plant crops and all the state workers who do nothing but sit around and draw checks they need to fire the whole bunch and start over and get some people who...

Hunted here from 1973, it was great, i remember when the wardens had all gathered at the checking station and prayed before the hunts. But they have cut out so much timber, and destroyed so many hunting areas and game paths of travel, maybe our new Governor will have enough Brass to stop it and discipline who has caused this, its ok but nothing like it once was and I will not buy in to the excuses they give, that is pure bull. If you love the real wild country tell your politicians to get involved in this as well as the needed upgrades in Cumberland Mountain state park. Tennessee is a blessed state and waste a lot of money in...
