Cherokee Park – A Beautiful Escape for All Ages! Cherokee Park is truly a treasure! I spent a wonderful day there with my grandchild, and we both had an amazing time. The natural beauty of the park is breathtaking — from the gently rolling hills to the peaceful wooded trails, it’s the perfect place to connect with nature and unwind. My grandchild especially loved exploring the open spaces and spotting wildlife along the paths. We brought a picnic and found the perfect spot near the playground — it felt like our own little slice of paradise. The park is clean, well-kept, and filled with friendly faces, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're walking, biking, playing, or just sitting under a tree enjoying the breeze, Cherokee Park offers something for everyone. It's a fantastic place to make memories with your family, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended for a peaceful, fun-filled day outdoors!

Just one of the play areas at Cherokee Park. It is a really nice park. Has a good disk golf course as well.

Enjoyed the hike around the area. Great disc golf course, nice area overall for many things. Signage need revising and is faded. Picnic tables in some areas need replaced and are in bad shape, but all the other areas seem well kept. Enjoyed the lake and walking along the edge. A bit more trash at the lake than should be, but will make an effort on my walks to pick some up when I get there again. UPDATE Feb 11: Some docks are either abandoned or in bad disrepair and need removed or repaired. Upkeep is still needed consistently. Some trees very rotted and hollow. They need removed before they fall on road, picnic area, back road or someone's activities. A larger tree was removed recently and good since it was very near the office and campers.

My husband and I stayed here one night as we were passing through the area. We didn't take the time to explore the park (the only reason I didn't rate it one star), but our experience with our campsite was not good. We stayed in one of the primitive sites, close to the office. When we arrived, the fire pit and entire site was littered with garbage (mostly beer cans). In order for us to set up our tent we had to move an old soggy rug/piece of carpet that looked like it had been there awhile. When we moved it, inevitable there were a bunch of bugs that had been living under it. Not the perfect place to set up a tent. I typically am not one to share negative reviews, however I do so in hopes that whoever maintains the campground would put more effort into maintenance of the sites. My husband and I were so disappointed in the $20 we spent on that site that we spent the night out getting dinner and running whatever errands we could just so we wouldn't have to spend as much time at...
