This review is titled, "A WALK BACK THROUGH TIME". I'm new to Butler only a few weeks. So I was interested in getting to know the history. Juanita was my tour guide and did an amazing job!! Her knowledge of historical events of 60, 70 years ago was fantastic!! And all the historical items are preserved in such incredible condition. It truely as though I had stepped back into time. If you are interested in history this is a place you MUST stop by and visit. Here's some of the 200 plus pictures I took. Enjoy Frank E

Amazing. The volunteers could really use some help helping preserve the museum.

I was so glad I took the time to stop at the Butler Museum. I recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys local history as well as people who are history buffs in general. They have countless artifacts from Old Butler including tools, clothing, housewares, furniture, photos, military memorabilia, Native American artifacts, and more. The docent gave a great tour, and I was fortunate enough to be there on a day there was also someone from Old Butler (he was 75) who shared his own stories. It was...

Not your typical museum! Was given a personal tour by a surviving resident of "Old Butler," chock full of local history and knowledge. This isn't your typical museum experience--there is a genuine effort to give visitors personal insight into what was, and what now is, Watauga Lake life by those who have actually lived it. If you've got the time on a Saturday afternoon, let the guides take you on a trip...
