This park is gorgeous. In fact, it is one of the pretty county parks I've ever been to.

There is a lot of offer at this park including tennis courts, a walking trail, a disc golf course, playgrounds, a swimming area, docks for fishing and boating, and several shelters for picnicking.

I usually go and walk the trail. It's a 1.2 mile trail that is nicely paved but follows the natural inclinations of the ground, so you don't get the feeling that they bulldozed the land to put it in. Rather, they worked with the land.

There is some really pretty landscaping as well including a small area with an artificial (small) waterfall and bench.

I've also gone to the swimming area and kayaked from the park. There is no lifeguard on duty, but that is clearly marked, which is useful. Also, the swimming area does have some stairs built in as well as a ramp for easy and safe access. The lake is also leveled there a little, so it scales deeper instead of just suddenly being deep.

Honestly, this park is great. I'd heartily recommend it. Some other key points are: It is free, and it is...

The park is beautiful and well maintained with lots of amenities. We decided to have our son's birthday party here and reserved a shelter a month in advance. I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by park employees when arriving at the shelter to make sure we were the right party. The only complaint I have is that there is no way to get ahold of the park if we have an issue, which we did. Not even half way through our reserved time, we went to the splash pad for just a few minutes. One person from our party was still there with all of our stuff set on the tables. A huge party of people invaded our shelter and refused to leave. We had to move half of our belongings because kids from that group were digging in our stuff. It was a very awkward experience. I’m not sure if the park double booked or the party just had no manners. But I probably will not reserve a pavilion there in the future unless there was some way to contact...

Great Park!

Just like the other reviews said, this is a great park with something for everyone.

At least 3 nice playgrounds for the kids, (one even has a sand pit stocked with toys that stay!)

They have a large beach/swimming area in the lake right next to a chlorinated splash pad that was great to transition from the lake.

Next to that are large bathrooms with changing areas and picnic pavilions.

There's ample shore and Pier fishing where my husband caught a nice bass! (As most lakes have advisories for bass we only catch and release, but it's still fun!)

There are also nice walking paths throughout the park.

The park is huge and even on Sunday (typically crowded elsewhere like The Cove at Concord) there was plenty of room to spread out and relax.

We have been searching for a new, quieter, happy spot and think we finally found it.

We...

We happened to find this park when we were roadtriping on backroads from middle Tennessee to Cades Cove along Hwy 70. We stopped to have a picnic lunch. It was so wonderful!!. The grounds are green with mature trees and located along the arms of water from what I believe to be Watts Bar Lake. It boasts a beach, a splash pad, and I saw something that said kayak launching. There are picnic tables, shelters, fun looking playground equipment, and a lovely garden. I believe the garden was put together by a Master Gardener club in the community. I'm not sure if it rents for gatherings, but there was a cabin type rec. building with corn hole in front. ( I didn't go in, so there are no facts I can offer) I hope to return again with my grandchildren someday.

It was a blast for my little ones. Love that there are 3 separate play grounds a big one medium one and a small one .many pavillions so sit and relax and have a snack. We love the splash pad for the kids and it's nice that the swimming area is free we also like letting the little ones fish off the fishing area but you don't catch much. Theres also a frisbee golf course I've never done it but it looks fun.
