Very affordable tour package and a down to earth gentleman with an interesting, folksy, and personal attachment to Shiloh Church. Larry was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We share a passion for history and he has several personal connections to the history and people of the area. I could have spent days rummaging through his artifacts. Cannister shot, spent artillery shell frags, weather worn rifles, and a collection of bullets and shells, the likes I dare say I never saw before nor ever will again. His collection of miniature soldiers, and Indians is impressive as well. The Widow Bells family bible sat quietly in the open in an unassuming table. Came across an original Harper's Weekly from 1862 and several photos and tin types from the period. I stopped in to check out the shop and had zero expectations. Honestly thought I might be walking into a "tourist trap". Man I could not have been any more dead wrong and presumptive (typical carpetbagger thinking I admit😅) anyway, if you're in the area, want a very personal connection to Shiloh and or the Tennessee River history then THIS is your place

Do yourself a favor and meet up with Larry DeBerry. He knows so much about Shiloh and the background of the Army's and people involved (heck, he's related to many of them) and presents his knowledge in any easy, thoughtful, friendly manner. I have worked with guides on many battlefields, and Larry is among the best.

The owner/operator is a local resident, a veteran and a nice individual with deep roots in the community. looking forward to taking friends on one of his excursions.

Shiloh is hallowed ground, and the National Park Service has done an excellent job in keeping these grounds preserved. The hundreds of monuments help remind us of the valor that was shown here by so many, while the cemetery for the Federal troops, and the mass grave sites for the Confederates show us of the sacrifice suffered by so many. The interpreter center has a small museum, and a video detailing what happened during the battle. If you are trying to follow the footsteps of an ancestor and know the regiment, maps are available for you to follow. The NPS staff are also always ready to help. A few months ago a tornado ripped through the park and brought down many trees, so keep this in mind when you arrive. It does not diminish the...

This was the best civil war site to go to and it's all because Larry is such an awesome guy. I visited from NY with 2 friends and Larry welcomed us graciously and volunteered to sit with us and tell us some of his many stories about the civil war and wwii. Such an amazing experience to sit down with a friendly Tennessee native stranger and make friends. So happy we came across this place. I hope to be back one day and listen to...
