Windrock is the most unique and amazing mountain bike experience you will ever have. It is all at once the most amazing, terrifying, exhilarating, and unbelievable set of trails you will find anywhere on this planet. I have always considered myself as a well rounded and reasonably skilled rider... Windrock took me well beyond anything I have ever even imagined possible and in the best possible way. It was truly the most amazing experience I've ever had on my bicycle. The trails are amazingly raw, yet detailed and refined where necessary, to say they are steep and fast is like saying the sun is kinda hot. Anything you've seen or read on the internet, be it GoPro videos, drone videos, pictures, etc... do this magical place absolutely no justice whatsoever. It is twice as Steep and fast as your darkest imagination will let you go. Seriously, I thought I had an idea but was swiftly slapped into reality in the first 30 secons on the trail. I started with a trail called "Reach-around" and let me tell you, it was an eye-opening experience to say the least. I then took on a trail called "Talladega" which is amazing and 10 times better than anything you've seen online. While on Talladega I noticed another Trail called "Drop out" so I went back up and took that one. Dropout really put me in my place and I was grateful. Every run was better and more thrilling than the last. I then took on the "Windmill" trail from the top of the mountain which is a black diamond Trail. To say it was over the top and amazing is a complete understatement. I can assure you that no matter where you have ridden in the past, you have never seen anything like Windrock and you owe it to yourself to experience this amazing place. Windrock was number 1 on my bucket list and it lived up to it's place there. Everyone who works there were super helpful, friendly and felt like old friends even though I just met them. Prices on everything are totally fair and even low for what you get. I will say that we already have plans to go back in 2 weeks... Just enough time to upgrade my brakes and get more body armor. Hahaha Thanks for reading, Jeral

Excellent place to go for downhill mountain biking. However, this is definitely not the place for a beginner to mountain biking. They have now put in two "beginner" runs that are only about 280 ft of elevation change instead of the normal 1100 ft. The two bunny hill runs are quite flowy and not too horribly steep. You also need to tell the driver each time to stop at the bunny hill runs but it's not horrible. However, once you get to the two full length blue runs it does get quite steep. Definitely need to have good bike control and be comfortable sitting way back on your bike. The price is not horrible at $47 for a lift ticket for the day. You can rent full suspension bikes that are pretty decent for about $130 as well if needed. I used a hardtail with 180mm rotors in the front and back. The bike is the airborne griffin and I would say that it is about the lower limit of what can be used on the trails. I stuck to the blue runs and didn't progress past that as a full suspension is almost needed for those trails. A full suspension is recommended but a hardtail is definitely doable if you are used to the bike and it had a front air fork. The best thing is if you are new to this place, start on the bunny hills and slowly progress in a safe and controlled manner.

Being a CA resident and season pass holder to Big Bear & Snow Valley and I make frequent trips to Mammoth and Northstar bike parks, Windrock is Probably one of the most fun bike parks I have ever been to. The Gnar is next level. If your a traveling 1st timer like myself, I'd recommend talking to a local and ask if they'd be kind enough to show you around. It's kind of like a maze trying to stay on trail. Once you get used to the gnar, it is thorough fun and smiles throughout 🙃. Now I get why, the best riders in the world train here. Good fun!

The Mountain Bike Trails are great. However their difficulty scale is notoriously off. I did not realize this was the case until I got there. Everyone was super friendly but these downhill trails are all made for experienced riders. Do not come here u less you are riding a full suspension bike with a full face helmet.

The easiest trail from the top is Talladega (I rode it twice) but it is currently a very rough ride due to the erosion from rain and the fact that they don't close the trails after a rain. This trail is not a blue but more on par with a black. In fact I've ridden black downhills elsewhere that were easier.

Fortunately Windrock seems to have heard this criticism and they have added two new trails about a 1/3 of the way up the hill that are true greens and blues. However, these trails are so short that you spend more time waiting for a ride up to them then you do getting to ride down them. If these are the only trails your interested in, I don't think the $40 entree fee is worth it. They really need one true green or blue from the top of the hill. It feels degrading having to always ask the drivers to stop at the lower stop (they won't stop unless you ask them which is fine. It's just a hassle) and forcing everyone else to wait while you unload your bikes. Hopefully they find a way of doing this because Windrock would be perfect if they did.

Sadly, if you are closer to my skill level I highly recommend skipping Windrock (I did not find Talladega enjoyable, just really rough) and instead just riding at Bakers Creek in Knoxville for free. Sure there isn't a lift but the trails are better maintained and they have something g for all skill levels. I enjoy Devil's Racetrack (the black diamond at Bakers) and both of the others. Barn Burner probably being my favorite (the...

Spent the weekend at Yoann Barelli's into the gnar camp with Aaron Gwinn. This place is SICK. Such a good set up, super laid back vibes but the maintenance and layout of the trails is phenomenal.

Probably not the best for beginner riders, but for advanced-expert riders looking to really pick up their game...I can't recommend this place enough.

Whistler comparison...riders relatively comfortable clearing all of A-line and dropping into any tech black (dipping into double black) will have an absolute blast. If you're relatively comfortable riding tech blues and are breaking into tech blacks (walking a few features here or there), or jumping Crank it Up More, you'll also have a blast. If you're not clearing everything on Crank It Up (regular, not C-more), or don't even consider trying tech blacks - maybe wait until they build a few more intermediate trails.

Also, +1 for ANY clinic or coaching with Yoann or Aaron. They are both super down-to-earth, fun, and offer incredibly valuable tidbits.

Finally - we were worried this place wouldn't be as fun in the rain, but had an absolute blast even during our downpour day. A lot of the trails ran GREAT in the rain.

Super excited about the future of this place, there is so much potential and a really cool scene of USDH riders. Wish it were an easier trip from the PNW, but I'll definitely...
