I feel so lucky to leave near such a tranquil establishment. It’s not JUST a museum…
The Dorflinger Glass Museum is a special place that blends history and nature in a way that feels effortless. The museum itself is well-curated, with a fascinating collection of cut glass that gives you a real appreciation for the craftsmanship of the time. But what really makes this place stand out is the setting.
The surrounding outdoor area is stunning—tall trees, quiet trails, and a peaceful atmosphere that’s hard to come by these days. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel the stress melt away as soon as you step out of the car. The highlight for me was the wooden bench swing tucked beside a small pond. It’s simple, but there’s something about the still water, the sound of the wind through the trees, and the gentle sway of the swing that makes you want to stay there for hours. It’s incredibly peaceful, and it really gives you space to pause and take everything in.
If you’re visiting the area, this is definitely worth a stop—not just for the museum, but for the experience as a whole. It’s perfect for anyone looking to unplug for a little while and enjoy a quiet, reflective moment in a beautiful setting. Five stars...
Read moreStop at the museum if you have never visited before. On this trip I hiked about with three of my younger girls who thoroughly enjoyed despite the wet conditions from a three day rain. Have you bug spray handy if you venture out and explore the area and trails. There is a loop trail around the lake which is short but nice and offers some nice views. Trails also branch out from the loop into the field and woods. There was a very nice body of water set back behind the amphitheater about a half mile in on a trail. Many wild daisies overlooked the lake with a few butter cups scattered about. If it rains for an extended period of time, some parts of the trail may flood. The girls found it quite fun finding ways to traverse the obsticals. The amphitheater is very nice and had a chance to attend last year and would recommend this if there is a concert that stirs interest. Included in photos is the 2019 schedule. Overall, I would recommend a stop to Dorflinger...
