Very rude and unprofessional. I arrived on opening time and my family who arrived 15 minutes later were denied entry because “there was no more parking” when clearly they had just opened. There were two large open spaces by our vehicle, Including the extra open spaces around the parking area! They were very rude when we informed them of this and handled us as if they were DISGUSTED by us. My family was very understanding and tried to work things out being told that they can wait in line until another car comes out. Though, when they did patiently comply and wait for a family to leave (even though the lake had just opened) the commissioner of the lake came and THREATENED to bring in law enforcement if they didn’t leave immediately!

As my aunt who had come with me had packed up everything, we drove to the entry booth up front and saw them LETTING IN CARS! We demanded for a refund and the commissioner replied “A refund to get you out of here? Yes.”

Not only that but the lake was very filthy! Beer cans and Trash left over from Burger King littered the area. Definitely not wasting my money for trash littered land and people who looked at us in disgust. If I was able to post pictures I would! Very very bad experience! I will be telling more friends and family about this who I...

Beautiful place to go with family and friends. We tried to fish something, not even a rock is a beautiful place the water is clear the view is great. The day we went there we didn't have to pay for the entrance so we had a great day for free at this amazing place. I saw people kayaking and having fun in the water. It's really easy to get to this place there's a lot of parking available for you to choose and they have barbecue areas, I think we are planning to buy land when they use area just to be close to the lake and have a beautiful view, build a new house vacation house something else we really like this place so we are planning to go there at least once every month because we want to be a lot off memories on this beautiful lake one of the things that we saw was there is a mobile home in the middle of the lake on a small island in the middle of the lake it looks really nice I think that is the owner of the land on this area he put that mobile home in the middle of the lake that was a great idea you have to go there to see how beautiful this place is and if there's something you like to come and let me know because I really like it if you don't like it you are an alien this place should be this is it but everybody...

First time visit and I will never return. Broken glass, disgusting grilling areas, and they don't comply with their own posted closing time of 8pm. This was my family's first and only exposure to a very rude Texan since our arrival in San Antonio with the military 2 years ago. An older, rude, disgruntled gentleman who claimed to be a precinct something or commissioner started harassing everyone in our group of 5 families to leave prior to 7:30pm. He would not leave us alone to enjoy the rest of our evening. We all paid the $10 fee to use the park til 8pm not 7:30pm. He got confrontational with me and threatened to call the sheriff because i told him he was very rude. I can't help but think he may have been prejudiced against my friends and family who are Filipino. He should be removed from his position. I will be contacting Bandera County regarding this experience. I am sure his job is to lock the gate at 8pm and he wants to go early. Bandera County should appoint someone else for the job who would actually be kind and respectful of customers. ALL CUSTOMERS!! I read multiple other reviews with similar complaints. How does...

The park staff was friendly. The lake itself was gorgeous. Blue water and park was clean. Didnt see any bathroom. Price was $10 per person and park is subject to fill to capacity restrictions by noon and park closes to new patrons. 8pm closing time in the evening. Boat ramp and lots of boat truck parking. No shade trees by the water. Bring canopy for shade. Lots of picnic tables away from the water that some are shaded. Trash bins are available throughout. Lots of fish available. Caught 7 within the 2 hours we were there. Most catfish on worm.

Pretty disappointed in the set up of Medina Lake and it's reflection on the city.. if they built a better public access it could greatly increase the tourism... but I went around both sides of the lake overall about an hour driving. And this was the only spot. 15 minutes off the highway and closed (doesn't look very innovated either) Dunno ... id rethink city planning and build a campground, open public access etc. Right off the highway. Just a thought
