One of the first few exits after entering Texas from Louisiana on I-10 freeway it's a wonderful place to stop for travelers and never seems to get old to any local nature lovers.

This is just another natural jewel of Orange County. Free Free Free to the public with event spaces all spread out for anything anyone would want to do.

THEY HAVE A MINI AMAPA STYLE THEATER 🀯 Multiple playgrounds, picnic tables everywhere, a large possibly wood burning built in grilling area, very very large covered paved area that could hold probably 50 vendor booths for a fundraiser. Fishing is free with no license necessary at all state parks I believe.

I have attended birthday parties at this park, and from what I could tell anyone is welcome to come and use the facilities respectfully and freely at will.

*NOTE I DO NOT WORK HERE AND MY ACTUAL KNOWLEDGE IS ONLY THAT WITCH IS POSTED PUBLICLY ON SIGNS *

Pet friendly, but they must stay leashed, we went on a trail walk. There's many different paths to choose, just simply going around the lake or criss crossing your way through wooded areas, it's all up to you. I also had young girls and we didn't come across anything to difficult, just fun and adventure.

I noticed that they also have πŸ• camping and RV hookups as well, but I have no idea if this is free as well. When entering the park there is a Ranger Station off to the right and I'm pretty sure that's where you would go...

The park itself isn't bad at all, at least as far as I'm concerned. I am basing this purely out of my personal experience with my toddler. The thing that gets me with, not only this park, but many other public places for children is the fact that many people do not keep an eye on their children. This drives me crazy. We can be having a great day at the park, playing on the toddler playground and the whole day can be ruined by having children who clearly too old to be playing at the toddler playground, run not only my daughter, but anyone's child who is in their way. Has happened to us more times than I can remember. Idk maybe this is just me venting being we just came from Claiborne Park. My daughter has a great time, every time, until she gets mowed down, or pushed out of the way etc etc. I can't necessarily blame the kid(s) when their parents are just standing on the side watching it happen and not saying anything about it. It's old... Like...

VERY DISPLEASED!!! We had a family memorial & the website said they close at 7 pm. We was kicked out the whole family at 5 pm. They need to update their site better. We will never be back at this park again the staff was very very rude & didn't care that we was having a memerioal for my father in law. Piss poor staffing, it was dirty & gross. Now I know why they want to close this scrappy park because of the rude & bad staff & no updating of the website which caused this whole mess too begin with. I would give this park .NO STARS . Cause of the very rude staffing. He was so lazy he didn't even make his rounds & didn't even know we had family in there he had to ask us if people was still in the park....once again poss poor staffing. Will never be back or send my money on this...

Nice little park. I took my Grandson on two different days hoping he could catch some fish. We didn't get a bite. The lake is pretty. It looks like the walking trails are pretty good. There were several people using them. The playground areas looked pretty good even though we didn't have time to use them. The bathroom only had shower curtains for doors. The toilets were flushable and there were sinks with running water. (Meaning it wasn't just a portajohn type toilet). Overall, it looked like a good little park for picnics and out door activities.

Had a "mental health day" here with my teenage son. Very relaxing and beautiful. Only wish I didn't have to leave (for work)only after a few hours. Theres really no describing its beauty. Drawbacks: If you blink you'll pass up the entrance and circling back is a b^*%#. No trashcans in the forest and I saw a few bottles, candy wrappers, etc.on the ground. Not many but enough to remind me that some humans are awful to dirty up Gods beauty .
