My husband and I live in Dallas and had been talking about bringing his Mother here for years - she lives in Mineral Wells and we never make enough time to walk the gardens whenever we come to town to visit her. Well, a few weekends ago, we made time as a surprise for Mother's Day and made a "day" of it. The love that is in these gardens is so very evident in every step that you take. From the employee in the ticket shop that was so kind to tell us about his favorite spots in the garden - and you could tell how much he loved the garden - to the immaculate presentation, care and grooming of the grounds itself. Being able to walk around and get lost within the paths and see native Texas plants, flowers, and herbs is just breathtaking. There are benches here and there for those that have trouble walking so you are able to rest - and even some places that have tables and chairs under shade. We found ourselves at one of those very tables close to closing on the day of our trip when one of the Gardens employees came to let us know they would be closing soon, and when my Mother in law made a joke that she didn't know if she could make it back to the front gates in 30 minutes (we were quite a distance at that point) he came back to get us in a 6 seat golf cart, even driving us to our car in the parking lot. I was so very impressed by that - everyone that we talked to during our visit was very attentive - they really seemed to care about their job. That was awesome. I'm very glad that we came - this is a hidden gem that I will be back to for a lovely stroll in a beautiful tranquil place.

Most of this garden is shaded. We went when it was over 90 and felt comfortable. The paths are a very fine redish gravel. Stroller and wheel chair friendly. There is a fountain (viewing pool) where the brick steps are about 3 inches high. That was the only place where there was a little bump and the stroller did fine. There were drinking fountains in a few places. A few places covered where you could sit and have a snack. You could sit by the water in a covered area. There is model train station where the train goes inside and outside. We sat in there and watched the trains for a bit and had a snack. My 3 year old had a good time watching trains, watching ducks, picking up sticks and chasing squirrels. No one bothered us. There is an area for weddings, very pretty. The place is in the middle of no where. If you are looking for somewhere to have lunch, Weatherford isn't too far away. $9 for adults, 3 and under is free.

My family usually goes to the season opener featuring the train show. This year did not disappoint! Lots of trains, not only the special setup, but also the permanent Clark Gardens outdoor G Scale layout. Of course the plants are starting to recover from the hot summer, so it is always great to see them. The favorite spot for my wife and I is the secret area under the waterfall with the wisteria. We always spend some time there together listening to the water, enjoying the cool, and the pretty view. Our other spot is the beautiful chapel where she and I exchanged wedding vows before our official marriage. We always consider that date our anniversary where we committed ourselves to each other in God's house. If anyone is looking for a peaceful stroll with nice views, Clark Gardens is a great choice!

It was very cute place to go. Lots of pathways to walk! The restrooms were very nice throughout! When we were walking down one of the paths that is close to the house the dogs that were running loose scared the crap out of all the kids but I don't think they would have attacked they were just protecting their property. There is a clear sign says don't go on the private property 🤣 they were smaller dogs I don't think we were in any danger. Just thought I'd mention that in case anyone has a fear of dogs! It's very peaceful I love the little hammock area they have to relax! They had a cute little kids area set up it was a great day at Clark Gardens. It was most definitely worth the drive from Fort Worth!

Lovely Chapel, the Clarks passion for life, love, and flower gardens created this beautiful hidden Gem, Clark Gardens. I have spent so much time in these gardens, and what a perfect Chapel adjacent to the special White Garden. Thanks guys for everything! Words cannot truly express the gratitude I have for this exquisite place, and the joy it has brought me for decades. Happy to get hitched here in this enchanting space near Mineral Wells, TX. pandemic-style :) With Our Lady of Lourdes Church nearby, where I received my first Communion and Baptism so long ago. What a delightful, elegant jewel the Clark's built for everyone :) Super glad we chose your Chapel to exchange vows!

Clark Gardens truly is a labor of love. I see the dedication and hard work that has gone into it over the years, and the story behind the build really spoke to us. The garden was much bigger than expected, and my favorite parts were: the White Garden (very emotional), the model train setup (I’m not even into trains and this part was so fun!), Conifer Way, and all the little islands in the middle of the ponds. I do believe we even got to wave at Mr. Clark as he drove by on a golf cart—the pamphlet said he is 93 and still works out there every day! That is amazing. If you live in the DFW area (or are visiting) Clark Gardens is worth a visit!
