I love the Dennis Johnston trails! So beautiful, lush with greenery, makes you feel completely removed from the city. The trails are well maintained and the community parks along the trails so appealing for family activities. Absolutely my favorite place! Dog parks too! My only grumble would be the road cyclists who use the trails as training ground. As a runner and a cyclist, I am so appreciative of the 'safe' training environment, BUT! Many seem to forget these are FAMILY trails and can be very vocally rude to people not following the 'rules of the road', nevermind the fact that they are traveling above the posted speeds! (Remember, I bike too). Regardless, if you have not, I strongly recommend this park system. Cannot wait for the expansion west of I-45 to come...

The park looks nice and the pond looks good for fishing. I bought my younger nephews there so they could fish for a while. The problem was that a constable drove by and said the park was closing in 10 minutes. No problem I started packing up their stuff. Then not 2 minutes later another constable drove up, parked, watched me packing their stuff then yelled " The park is closed and if we weren't going in 5 minutes we could get a ticket." Then drove to where I was parked and sat there watching me load everything in the car then followed me to the gate. So if you go here make sure you have everything packed and out the gate well before...

This is one of the best paved parks created. It is forms a 26 mile loop which is broken into smaller loops. It connects several parks which means there are bathrooms and dog parks along the way. There are smaller wood trails too.

Predominantly paved and clean. You will encounter bike riders (leisure & sport), runners/walkers, some adventurers, plenty dogs walking their owners, and there is trails for horseback riding. People are fishing down at this creek but I don't know what they are catching 😆.

This will become one of your favorite parks. It's worth loading up the kids, the bikes, the dogs and food to spend a couple...

Pretty nice paved trails that connects to the Spring Creek Greenway. We hiked a little over 3 miles here. Restrooms were very clean. If you have kids there's a small playground here for them. They have a beautiful butterfly garden and a couple of ponds you can fish at, (catch and release only). There is a cover pavilion that you can rent. They also have cabins but I don't know if they are for rent. We saw some birds that we haven't seen before out here, some rabbits, and the smell of the blooming white flowers on the trails is truly aroma therapy this time of year.

I try and bike daily, 20-30mi, Dennis Johnston is by far the best one in Houston. Very clean, well maintained, when you get deep into the trail during the week run into very few people. Lots of deer crossing path, especially after rains or later in day, be cautious, safe, constables patrol trail on 4wheelers. Cypress Creek runs along one side as trail winds through very shaded winding paved trail. Only small inclines, can approach 20mph or more in some area's. Worth the drive, since all sections opened, can get over 29mi in distance. Worth the drive.

My future fiancé and I enjoy going to new places. I picked this place as a potential picnic place for us but we ended up looking at the flowers and taking a walk on the trails. It was one of the only parks to offer a covered section which made the park really enjoyable for us. The park was really clean and the traffic was not too bad. There were a lot of nature lovers there so it made the experience quite enjoyable.
