I've been a member at Duchman Winery in the beautiful Texas Hill Country for several years. The ambiance at Duchman Winery is simply enchanting. The winery offers a slice of Tuscan heaven right here in Texas amidst the rolling hills and stunning vistas. The picturesque views and the beautifully designed Italian villa-style event center create an unforgettable atmosphere perfect for relaxing and enjoying some exquisite wines. The wine-tasting experience at Duchman Winery is an absolute must. They offer a selection of fine wines made exclusively from Texas-grown grapes, highlighting varieties like Vermentino, Sangiovese, and Dolcetto. Each tasting session is well-organized and provides a fantastic opportunity to explore the unique flavors of their award-winning wines. With its cozy setup and knowledgeable staff, the tasting room ensures a memorable experience. I highly recommend making a reservation for their weekend tastings, as they can fill up quickly. Duchman Winery also has a special collaboration with the nearby Salt Lick BBQ, a renowned Texas barbecue joint. They bottle some exclusive wines for Salt Lick BBQ, including their BBQ Red and BBQ White. These wines are crafted to perfectly complement the rich flavors of Texas barbecue, making them a delightful addition to any meal. Overall, visiting Dutchman Winery is a delightful way to spend a day in the Texas Hill Country. Whether you're there for a casual tasting, a picnic under the oak trees, or a private event, Duchman Winery provides a perfect blend of excellent wines, stunning scenery, and warm hospitality. Cheers to Duchman Winery for creating such a wonderful wine-tasting...
Read moreI have been to many wineries and by far this one has been the most disappointing. The lady who was in charge of our tasting was rushing us throughout our entire tasting and not giving us enough time to understand more about the wines. She also told us the inside tasting would be standing unless we wanted to sit in the outside picnic tables and grab our samples and come back to grab one sample after another. This was already frustrating considering that we were expecting to be seated and for someone to bring us the wines one at a time and not us having to pick up the samples ourselves. She then told us we would have to take two samples inside and then be charged first before having the other samples outside which we would have to grab ourselves. She was rushing us so much to the point she was giving us 2 samples at the same time. This is completely unacceptable and when I shared my bad experience with th manager all she did was say I’m sorry I hope you enjoy the rest of your birthday. She didn’t do anything. I do not recommend this place, you will find other wineries with much better service and with a tasting that feels relaxing and not rushed. Do...
Read moreWent here last night for my anniversary. I've never had such awful customer service! Walked in wine tasting room and did not get greeted just stared at. Went up to counter and was served by a blonde girl (heavy set) with the worst attitude ever. She almost seemed as if she wanted to start a fight with us that's how moody she was. Honestly bizarre. Asked question about wine and she refused to answer instead just shook her head. Gave up and just ordered a random glass paid and walked out super uncomfortable. Talked to another couple outside about it and they said they had a similar experience?! Why is this mean girl working here being rude to people??! Also ordered a cheese plate and chef wasn't in so we couldn't get it. We will never be back! I just can't get over how uncomfortable that was. Such an attitude, eye rolling, and snarky comments. For example my husband said do you have any suggestions and she responded " I don't know". Yikes. This girl was so angry and mean I felt as if I were to make eye contact she’d reach out and bite me! Hahaa sounds dramatic but this girl was...
