This place is a pretty cool visit, while brief, it is what you make of it. We were lucky enough to get the nickle tour from a period dressed gentlemen who was very nice and seemed to enjoy his job. While the place is free to visit, they do ask for donations, especially for the tour. The stories of its history are interesting and delightful to hear. Use your imagination and you'll enjoy yourself. The stagecoach was pretty neat to see and sit in. We were told by a local that they give horse drawn wagon rides but since we were there not to long before it was closing down for the evening, we only got to sit inside and take pictures. Read moreAmazing learning opportunity. The guide there was very informative. He wore amazing timely clothes to really immerse us in the experience. We got to see in each room, and it was so cool. We got to sit in the stagecoach and take lots of pictures. Looking into each room and seeing all the historic decorations, furniture was such an amazing sight. I appreciated the information we received and the little gift shop. We got our first stamp in the historic sites passport. The Fanthorp Inn is nestled in the south side of Anderson, Texas and there is so much history here about Henry Fanthrop and the home he built for his bride, Rachel as a wedding gift later to become the Fanthorp Inn.
