Sooooo awesome!!! There’s a big dog park with agility equipment and a small dog park (they’re separate). There’s a water spigot for the doggies. The dog park is right when you drive into the preserve, then you go up the road to parking and the playground equipment/bathrooms. I didn’t see any water fountains, so good to bring your own. The creek is super pretty in Fall!!! We kind of wandered around and didn’t stay on one trail. One thing that’s SUPER UNUSUAL is they have a HUGE paved trail, so if you have a wheelchair you can enjoy the park!!!! I rarely see that in Texas. There are a lot of picnic tables and wildlife blinds to watch deer or birds. I think it wouldn’t be as nice in summer because there isn’t a ton of shade. If you have dogs or kids this is a really great place to stop as it’s right off I-10. I’m so glad we found this place because we’ll be back soon. Thank you, Kendall County Parks!!! It’s obvious y’all care about your natural lands and we love being able...

Not the most challenging trails but it's the Texas hill country not the rocky mountains. We enjoyed the hike and the route we took was a good mix of moderate hills, woods, and grassy areas. I appreciated the good signage on the trails as the park has a lot of loops within loops so I can see some folks getting lost thinking they're on the wrong loop.
Note that some of these trails are ADA friendly so if you have a friend who is access-limited this would be a great park to explore with them.
Seemingly nice playground area, good parking, very nice dog park. Also saw signs for a model airplane area which we did not see but sounds pretty cool.
The water areas looked amazing - would love to come back here on a kayak and fish.
To the person saying they spent 10 minutes exploring the whole park - I think you...
Read moreSuch a beautiful place outside of the city! It’s worth the drive! There’s a playground area for the kids, multiple pavilions to rent out or just use on first come basis. A NICE small and large dog park, and great walking trails. But be warned, to go into the better part of the park, you have to cross a water way, so either bring sandals or be prepared to cross the water barefoot! Our first time visiting was during winter and we were determined to cross the water but our shoes got soaked and we cut the trip short so we wouldn’t get sick. But we are glad to say we have been back multiple times to visit for fun, photo ops, dog walks...
