We live here in Camp Wood n have never come out till yesterday our friends from out of town invited us to dinner out there at their campsite.mind u not we had no problem paying to go in there n spend some time to catch up on old times. N at exactly 9:00 When it was time to leave we were saying out goodbyes the lady comes over to tell us it was time to leave I understand rules r rule but she was so freaking rude about omg. N I don't think my friends will ever come back cause she got even more rude with them as well. She accused them of them having problems with them last year to which they have never camp there before. But they will get recomrecommended by us or our friends to anyone. I'd rather give my business to Big Oak n my friends we all love that place. They sure know how to treat people... Big Oak by far is a more relaxed atmosphere n more better place. Even 3 Sisters makes u n ur guest feel...

It's a beautiful place well clean, quite but the the staff is just outrages... they don't have any customer service experience at all... we used to go at least once a year until recently. We booked 4 campsite we sent the deposit as required we let them know there was 30 of us going then the week of us going when my family started calling to making their reservations which I had already paid for they started making new rules and said they only had 2 campsite available for us... we called uvalde county to complain and we got no response not even an I SORRY WE RUINED YOUR FAMILY PLANS... WE WILL NEVER NEVER GO...

My husband and I stayed there for a few months. We work Monday thru Saturday. leave at 5AM get back at 7PM. So sundays we enjoy our music and cooking out. My husband had some music on at 3pm and the rude old lady the helps Danny run it came over and said I can hear it turn it down. Same day I went to office and she told me quiet time 10PM. But she didnt want to hear the music during the day. Keep in mind this is a small park. So I told her that made no since. Left 2 days later. and are electric bill every month was almost $400!!! The need to run that...

It was really cool here. Our first time here and we had fun! Brought our pooches and had a blast! The only drawback was at the end of the day, everyone out there left their trash all over the place and there are no restrooms so guess what happens. Yup! Overall, swim at your own risk, no lifeguards, and it's worth the drive. You can swim on either side of the dam and the water temperature is just right. Good drive and views while getting there. We plan a return visit.

Terrible and incredibly rude staff. Not friendly service and no help in explaining the park. Day use is $4 per person to swim which is not bad in pricing. But SAVE yourself the money and drive a little further and there’s crystal clear waters right next to it which is FREE! “Swimming Area” if you can call it that, is filled with water grass And weeds. Not very kid friendly. Deep area only and one tiny clear area of water in the corner.

Great place to canoe, tube, star gaze & truly relax. We love the majestic old trees!! Only downside is the lack of internet connection/cell service, which made it challenging for my need to still be working. (If you drive a few minutes to Camp Wood, you can get service.) Otherwise, disconnecting is a blessing! FYI- RV campers are allowed to have dogs, but day campers are not. Our pup loved Cooksey Park.
