The good: -Beautiful trees and lake views! -Flat campsite spaces with bbq’s, water, electricity, and ample parking space (we were tent camping but all the other sites on the loop were RVs). -Quick walk to the bathrooms. -Hot showers. -Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. -Deer everywhere! -Nature trail (and one stump in our site!) was dotted with fairy doors and cute “magical” surprises that the kids loved discovering. -The lake was beautiful, nice temperature (even in October), and everyone seemed to adhere to the no wake rule. -We saw no wasps nests or mosquitos at all -Sturdy picnic tables - and they were moveable which was nice! Not bolted to the ground. -The RVs were set up all cute and had string lights, happy friendly people, and followed the noise after 10pm rule pretty well.

The bad: -The gate attendants are abrupt and not very welcoming... we had a big group in adjacent sites and all arrived separately and each carload said the same thing about the gate attendants- just seemed inconvenienced that we were even there. -There was a burn ban so we couldn’t use the campfire rings (even though they’re on the gravel/sand in a metal ring, water nearby, and there’s dew every morning) none of the confirmation emails or the website or anything forewarned us of that so that was a huge bummer :(. -The nature trail was overgrown in several spots, hard to walk through. -There was no field or open space that was maintained enough to play any of the yard games we brought. Either grass was too tall, or the stickers were unbearable. -Goat head stickers everywhere- big tan and purple nasty things, the dogs had a hard time walking anywhere without getting pricked. -The ground was WAY too hard to drive tent stakes, and the sites too narrow that not all of them had soft ground at all, what soft ground there was was piled with oak leaves that were hiding very angry fire ant piles. All seemed to cater to RV users. -The shoreline of the lake was pretty littered (even found some rusty rebar). -No soap in the bathrooms, and the hand dryers didn’t work. Bathroom ceilings covered in cobwebs and dead bugs. -The map has no units of measurement so it’s not super clear how to get around, and the spot assignments aren’t in order at all times (and very hard to see in the dark!). -Only one person drank the water from the spigot on-site, and that person got violently ill in the middle of the night. So while we can’t say for certain, none of us drank the water after that just to be safe.

All in all, great experience for what we paid! Nice sites, electricity and running water. Lake views, bathrooms, and trash service., all for only $26...

This is probably the cleanest COE Park I've visited this entire summer!🧹 I see the park hosts, they have a four-wheel vehicle. They are out and about. They are inspecting and cleaning.🙌🏻

However, The ceiling in the bath house has more than 20 years of spider nests, cobwebs,🕸️ hornet nests, and junk all over the ceiling so thick it looks like a Halloween haunted house!🕷️ It is absolutely horrendous 🫣.

The waterfront sites are beautiful. But one section doesn't have a whole lot of trees and can be a bit hot.

Two other items which could deter you from choosing to visit here are the ants🐜🐜🐜 and the birds.🐦🐦🐦 The ant piles are absolutely everywhere. If you are tenting you would have to take some serious precautions. And the mockingbirds. If you have tinted windows they will make a mess out of your truck and your camper trying to attack the reflection! 😲 If you unknowingly get a site near one of their nests. 😬 They are relentless! 😖 And besides the mockingbirds there can be a occasional vulture issue. If you have a soft top on your truck bed, roll it up because those birds will tear it up!🤬

It's a decent sized park. With three individual loops. An entire herd of deer🦌 Must be a dozen newborns. Conveniently located restrooms, and dozens of dumpsters! It's a pretty nice park. Quite large. Great for walking around. But a lot of it is in disrepair, although there are some exceptions like I see there has been some work done on the beams surrounding the sites👷🏻‍♂️

Something else unusual is this location has five boat🚤 ramps in two different areas of the park. 😱 Very popular on the weekends! During the summer of course.🏊🏻‍♂️

There is a pretty nice trail here.🚶🏻‍♂️🥾 It's wide. Does need some maintenance.🚧 But it is a pleasant morning or afternoon walk....

It a nice park with beautiful views. They have restrooms and showers that are pretty clean most of the time. They also have picnic tables, some cover some not. There’s a running trail in the woods that’s maybe about half a mile. The staff is not nice or welcoming. We reserved two camping sites next to each other. Quiet hours are at ten pm, perfectly normal and understandable. Exactly at 10pm a staff member went to our campsite and told us to stop making noise, I said the baby is crying he said quiet time is at 10 and not even babies can make noise… excuse me what? He’s a baby and babies cry. Later on the same staff member went back and we were told we couldn’t park on the designated parking spot for one of the sites even though we paid for it so we had to move the car to the boat ramp parking lot. In the morning a lady, very rudely, said we parked illegally and we needed to move immediately or the vehicle would get towed. We tried to explained we were told to move the night before by another staff member and she said no one would have told us to park there so we had to move it back. The staff is not on the same page about rules and on top of that they’re rude. The group next to us was very loud until around midnight but not once were they told something. Not sure why we were the ones that got picked on. We have been to this park many times before but we will never...
