If you're thinking about visiting the museum, my advice is to skip it. Truly the worst museum EVER! The place is small and the content is okay, but the staff doesn't seem to know what's going on and the director is truly a horrible, rude woman. We were sold tickets just before a private tour started and then asked to leave in a very rude and hostile manner after we had already started walking through the museum. To top it off on, all of the inappropriate and unprofessional behavior came from the museum's director! We were very impressed by the overall physical impression and the competence of the...

The Zapata County Museum is a must see for anyone who has roots in South Texas along the Rio Grande! We had a wonderful day learning about our rich heritage! Our tour guide, Dr. Flores, was a wealth of knowledge. I highly recommend it! Thank you, Amparo Montes-Gutierrez and Mr. And Mrs. Hildegardo Flores for sharing your time and talent to present and create such a lovely museum. It truly is a gem! I will definitely be back for...
