My wife and I got married at OHV on 11/4/23. Between the scenery inside and outside of the barn, that alone is impressive. But my biggest appreciation for OHV goes to Lorrie (Event/Venue Manager) who is a rockstar that is very organized and made my Type A personality relax a little. She also stepped up to help us in ways that we didn't even anticipate at first, but she did it; Abelina (Behind the scenes boss lady), who made sure things were done, and just made our lives easier leading up to our big day. In addition, we are grateful for DJ Glenn (the DJ that is included in the full wedding package if you chose that, and we recommend it). DJ Glenn is also very organized and has a game plan for any scenario, and helps you create the perfect timeline from Precessional all the way until the final exit. His song list is endless, his personality is genuine, and the way he helps the reception flow is outstanding! We also want to say how much we appreciate David and Jill Stone (owners), who are humble, gracious, communicate well and offer the best venue in the area. I texted a number in October of 2022 to inquire about the venue, and within 5 minutes David texted back saying he would have someone reach out momentarily. We were booked within a few days. Response time, friendliness and willingness to help is the best way to sum up this entire venue and staff! Highly recommend and plus their wine and beer selection is top notch, and the wine slushies are on point! Thank you OHV!!!

Best wedding venue I could have ever imagined!! We got married here in April, 2024. Jill and David the owners were so helpful and welcoming! The decorations they included helped our venue come to life and the beautiful barn was a perfect place to dance the night away! We had our ceremony by the lake and all our 150 guests enjoyed it so much! They allowed us to have a Coffee Cart serve tasty drinks local to WS called Inti which was a perfect way to start the day! Then around 5 our food trucks opened and the bar opened- the wine was delicious and we especially loved the wine slushee as an option and the non alcoholic slushy we did for non drinkers and kids! Overall a beautiful, safe, lovely venue with an amazing team including the owners, bar server and decorator! Thank you so much for our best memories yet!

Family owned winery and venue. They feature wine, beverages and the best strawberry cake I've ever eaten. The tasting room is in an old home that has been modified to accommodate visitors. There is a large deck in back of the tasting room looking out over a large lake. The venue is a well designed "barn" featuring a fire place, brides room, caterer's kitchen, heating and air conditioning. There are large doors on the sides of the building that can be opened in nice weather opening up to beautiful views of the lake and rolling hills. Is also features a large deck. Our daughter is planning a May wedding at the vineyard and wanted me to visit the venue. Very pleased with the place and very impressed with the staff. I'll post an update and more photos after the wedding.

First, let me start with saying the outdoor area at Old Homeplace is gorgeous with several picnic tables and other seating areas among mature trees on a hill overlooking Lake Thomalex. You may want to bring your own chairs as back up in case they are busy. The tasting room is small and not really for tasting if that is what you are accustomed to. They sell flights instead of tastes. My wife and I tried 8 different dry wines both white and red. We prefer dry wines and these seemed a bit off. Not bad but just not yum. I would describe the wines as tight. All the reds had a similar merlot taste even the Cabernet. I would not get them again. The Henry Lee had a fruity yet dry finish and I can see myself drinking it on a hot summer day but I can’t say I loved it. I’ve heard their sweet wines are much better. I will say they need to work on customer friendliness. The first contact my wife and I had on the property involved the manager or owner approaching behind us, saying, “I’m going to need to look in your cooler.” I was just taken aback that he didn’t lead with “welcome to Old Homeplace, I’m whoever, do you mind if I look in your cooler, we have to be very careful that people don’t bring outside alcohol because of our permits.” We did open our cooler of cheese, cauliflower dip, goat cheese and water but I never felt welcome after that. I like spending my money where I feel welcome and appreciated. I did not feel welcome or appreciated. This interaction is the reason for 2 stars. Not sure I will be back in the heat of summer to give that Henry Lee...

We bought middle of the barn tickets for the Drye Christmas special. I worked for Derek’s grandfather for 15 years and we are friends with one of Jon Montgomery’s band mates. I did not realize middle of the barn would be right in front of the bathrooms (pricey if you ask me for that section). People coming out of the bathroom talking and laughing. Some of them talking to us because we are the back row next to the bathroom. Yes we talked not realizing we were being monitored apparently. There were six of us(which I paid for eight tickets)and the only ones talking to the bathroom people were two of us. The owner had the nerve to come fup to one of the people that had nothing to say, and look them in the eye and say y’all need to be quiet. Seriously been going there for eight years and treated like trash tonight, even though I paid for middle of the barn tickets that was a joke. We have also been to many spring and summer events. One of our best friends had their wedding there which was the first wedding there. The owner was not nice and out of place to talk to us like that. I guess our next stop will be weathervane where we used to go, but I’m going to start back. I confronted the owner and no apology was made. I left halfway thru and will not go back. So embarrassing as the four girls in front of us were so loud talking. Not even singing.

Trying to answer back and not letting me. You are wrong, we did have...
