We booked a private dining room at Homestead Manor for our rehearsal dinner in January. Everything was set up via email/signed contracts - a prefixed menu, bar cap, and even a holiday gift card promotion. So we were not expecting to be told when we showed up with 25 of our friends and family in tow that they did not have reservations for us. (Cue the bride having a mini meltdown and her bridesmaids running to the bar to get champagne.). However, the manager that night, Austin, was quick to come talk to us to figure out where the issue was. We showed him our email communications and our contract - where we discovered the date on the contract was for the next night and my husband and I failed to catch it because all our other emails had the correct date on them. At this point Austin could have said, “well your contract says the reservations are for tomorrow so you are out of luck” but he never even ventured near a comment like that. He simply said “we can make this work and we will make it right”. He went to talk to the chef to see if we could do a similar menu to our contract and the wait staff went to work getting the room put together for the unexpected large party. We were able to be sat in the private dining room we originally booked and were sitting down with only a reasonable postponement. Our amazing server for the evening was Justice. I am not sure if he volunteered or was told to pick up this unexpected large party but he was super kind, professional, and incredibly helpful all night. He never appeared flustered or rushed as he served 20+ people almost by himself - there was another gentlemen that assisted him but we unfortunately did not catch his name. The food and wine was absolutely amazing and everyone seemed to be enjoying the meal. Austin would come check on us periodically to ensure things were going smoothly. At some point the chef himself even came up to see how things were and the whole room thanked him for the delicious food and hospitality. Austin stayed, past his shift, until our meal was complete to ensure we were completely satisfied. We had never eaten at Homestead Manor when we lived in Nashville (we moved to Seattle shortly before our wedding) but if we still lived there we would be regulars now. The entire staff at Homestead Manor deserves praise for the professionalism, flexibility, and kindness in what was nearly a disaster on our wedding weekend. A special huge THANK YOU to Austin and Justice for making the night before our wedding a truly memorable one. We can’t recommend this place highly enough for both the food and the way they treat their guest. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our very happy little hearts -...
Read moreWedding Venue ... beautiful, but beware. Our daughter's wedding was last weekend. It was beautiful. Pro's: The barn is beautiful, the manor has a historical charm. There are beautiful old trees. Cons: They only provide 150 chairs that are included in your rental. If you have more guests and you want them to have a seat be prepared to make your own arrangements to call Southern Events (for 65 chairs it added an additional $400+ )
If you are having the wedding outside, using the folding 150 chairs they provide, be prepared to set up ALL the tables (28 -8ft tables, 180 chairs) before the wedding and after your event put them ALL back exactly in the shed outside of the barn. This was not disclosed until after the contract was signed and it is not mentioned in the contract.
We had planned to have the ceremony on the front lawn with the Manor as the back drop. We had to change it last minute due to over 1/2 the box woods being DEAD. They made excuses and even the recommendation they could be spray painted green like a Hallmark movie on our dime.
We moved it to the lawn behind the barn and it's a pretty area, except for the fact it had rained the day before and it was a mud pit. You couldn't see it until you started walking on it and sinking in it. The brides dress was completely muddy by the end of the ceremony. The bridal party was literally having to clean mud out of their shoes and feet. The vendors advised this is very common due to the space was a pond prior to them filling it in.
The bridal house when they have 1 full lenth mirror and 7 small ikea mirrors. One bathroom for a brial party of 9 + MOB, MOG, and make up and hair people... it felt very crowded and not lady friendly. Also, it is on the opposite side of the barn and it could not be locked, so it is at your own risk for the belongings of the bridal party. The coffee shop was packed with people and the public has access without security. I advised that know one leave any valuables. The grooms area was very tiny with tired furniture and lacking tiny patio.
My expectations for spending $6000.00 alone for the venue... I will say the two staff that worked our actual event were attentive and present from parking, to the fire places, to end cleaning. (not tear down) We made the best of the day & we made it beautiful. For a wedding venue... I cannot...
Read moreWe hosted our daughter’s reception at Homestead Manor on 8/23/25. The property is absolutely stunning—the manor itself is perfect for an elegant celebration. Their table setup crew did a great job as well (just note there’s an additional $500 fee for setup of table and chairs). The event itself was filled with fun and joy, and we loved celebrating with friends and family.
The reason for my 3-star rating is the management experience. The venue manager was rigid and difficult to work with from the start—not just with us, but with our vendors as well. This created unnecessary stress during what should have been an enjoyable planning process.
For example:
We were scheduled to access the property at 4 p.m. for a 6 p.m. start time. I requested an extra 15–30 minutes since nothing else was happening at the venue that day. The answer was a firm “no” unless we paid extra.
Our DJ needed 2.5 hours to set up (a standard request, according to them), and that was also denied, even though the venue was empty.
We rented chairs from an outside vendor for delivery the morning of the reception. When I notified the manager, she asked why they couldn’t come just an hour before we got access. Unfortunately, I don’t control vendor routes. She also refused to let the chairs be stored under the canopy for protection when pickup couldn’t happen until Monday. Her solution? Require a late-night pickup at 11 p.m.—which most companies won’t do without a big extra fee. We had to stack the chairs on the lawn and buy a heavy tarp in case of rain.
Bottom line: The property is gorgeous, and the event itself turned out beautifully, but be prepared for a very inflexible and unpleasant management experience. I would recommend Homestead Manor for its aesthetics—but expect added headaches when it comes to working with...
