Preservation Park is on repeat for us. With kids, we stick to the hill trail, take in the views, and head back. But if you’re feeling adventurous, continue down the other side and explore the wooded trails. Don’t forget to fuel up beforehand at 1819 or stop at Sarah Benson playground afterwards. 📍Preservation Park—Thompson Station #park #hiking #hikingtrails #views #hilltop #history #battlefield

Wow! This small park with several hiking trails is a gem. Located in the heart of Thompson’s Station, TN on West Thompson’s Station Rd, this park with easy trails is beautiful. If you love birds, this is a bird watcher’s paradise. We identified MANY indigo buntings, and also the following: orchard orioles, cardinals, Carolina Chickadee, Eastern Towhee, Brown Thrasher, Eastern Bluebird, White-breasted Nuthatch, some type of warbler, and some kind of sparrow. There is a pavilion available. There are also restrooms with a couple stalls that surprisingly had running water, had electricity, and were clean. There are a couple small inclines. You’ll be rewarded with fantastic views. There are also signs with historical information.

We were looking for a place to hike and this place happened to be really close to where I live. You can hike through the woods on a small path or stay on a more open easier trail. If you hike up to the top of the hill there are amazing views. I will go back to see the fall colors or to watch the sunrise or set. If you take the path through the woods be sure you have proper attire there is poison ivy, bugs, and everything else you would expect in the woods.

This place is awful! This Saturday, the sun was shinning and I only saw about 6 people at this wonderful, uh... I mean terrible place. Trails are relatively easy to walk... perhaps even someone with a cane could handle them. Wide open spaces. Hills. Farm land. Horses. Bathrooms. A pavilion to eat. If I were describe TN to someone, I'd have them visit this place. But my advice is just to stay away. So... "shhh"... The more people who do not know about this hidden gem,...
