Quaddick State Park is a nice place to cast a line, swim at its big beautiful clean beach, camp nearby, have parties, and enjoy your day out on this clean lake's water. The water here as mentioned is very clean, crystal clear in some areas and it's beach is decently big for its location. There is plenty of Crappie / Pumpkin Seed biting, you might have great luck fishing with a boat away from the shallow sides! Attached is a baby Watersnake biting my friends hand. Watersnakes are non-venomous and are harmless!

We loved our first time visit to Quaddick State Park, it had a family friendly atmosphere with picnic benches and a little side trekking trail thru the woods. All areas were well kept and clean of litter, the water was lovely and clear. In the designated beach area, several kids and grown-ups were still enjoying the refreshing lake water at the end of a warm and humid day. Gracie loved getting in some play on the sand before retiring to a pleasant spot under some pine trees. 100% wonderful experience!!! 💛

It was a nice day today and not overcrowded, people were nice that I talked to. Nice place had a grill and picnic table, Porta pottys several of them. I do believe a changing area as well. It was mostly clean, probably garbage frome the last people. Take out or throw away what you bring in, it's common courtesy. But good setting and place to bring family and relax for a day or few hours.

I've been going to Quaddick for over 25 years. We went 3 weeks ago and got a table on the left side of the park. There were yellow jackets around our table. We did sit and eat, but the bees were annoying. We chalked it up to an isolated incident because nothing like this has ever happened before. We went again on 8/20 and sat on the right side of the park. The yellow jacket issue was 10 times worse!!! You couldn't even get near the table; they were everywhere. Some were even at the beach area. A few family members joined us but we told them that we didn't think we could stay because of the bees, so not to bother taking their things out of their car. We tried changing tables but they were everywhere. There was 1 other large group of people there and they were swatting bees also. I called the main number from the beach, several times, but it kept going to voicemail. We packed up and went to the booth to ask for a refund, since we are from out of state, there is a charge. We were told we couldn't get one. We asked the girl to call someone since I couldnt reach anyone. She called her boss, who said we had to send an email to the CT DEP. Ive written them twice, and still no response. Rangers used to walk around and clean, plus mingle to make sure everything was going smoothly at the park. Only once this summer, we saw what looked like 2 teenagers picking up some trash. They did not go through the whole park. My husband and I were picking up water bottles and balloon pieces. Yes, people should be cleaning up after themselves, but if there is trash left behind, the park should take care of it. This was my favorite place to go but no more. The tables are rotting and there are grills sitting on the grass where tables used in be. So they got rid of some, but never replaced them. Such a shame. Where is the money going from people that are paying to go there?? Its obviously not going to the upkeep...

If you’re Spanish or black don’t ever go here . As soon as we pulled in we were racially profiled by the employees and continually harrased by the one police officer until he eventually evicted our whole group which was mainly children . All the kids were in the water swimming . First we were told to lower the music by and employee when there isn’t even a soul around for over a mile . So we did . Not even 2 minutes later here comes the racist cop . “What’s that I smell ? “ Sir it’s hookah . “What’s in the hookah “ . It’s tobacco si. “I smell marijuana “ sir it’s hookah it’s right there . “Where’s the alcohol I’m searching all the cooler” . Go ahead sir we are cooking burgers and hot dogs 🤷🏽‍♂️ “you can’t park your jet skis on the shore your all evicted “ kids commence to start crying . This officer wish I got his name should be fired for racial profiling and ruining what should’ve been a great Sunday afternoon . Will absolutely never ever go back to this...

It is not clean around beach area as of 07/02/24. Loaded with huge Geese feces You cant avoid stepping in it as you step on to the grass area to walk to the beach. Im sure the bacteria count must be pretty high in the water as well? I tried calling DEEP no answer. People were still sitting on the beach and kids were playing in the sand in amoung the geese feces!. It was everywhere! Really large feces they must be huge geese? Disgusting, neglect! Especially when we are forced to pay fees now instead of at gate when we renew our...
