I just completed a peak season and have been super happy with the deliveries to my porch, and with the quality of the veggies and fruit. I have just called them to switch us to year-round customers. For my wife and I, we chose a small share, plus a small fruit share. This worked out to be just right for 2 people, it lasted about a week when augmented with meat and seafood and bread we bought elsewhere.

It was exciting to receive a few exotic items that we don't see in supermarkets. Over the summer we received pawpaw fruits; turmeric root; kohlrabi; fresno peppers; hakurei turnips... in addition to the stuff we expected like tomatoes, potatoes, onions and green leafies. It's fun to try new veggies, locally grown!

The salad greens were notably fresh. We learned to eat those on the first couple of days after delivery because of their spectacular freshness, but even if we waited till the end of the week, they were still crisper than supermarket greens. A sneaky benefit of using this CSA is that eating greens stops being a chore.

The farm packs your box by hand. There were no mistakes, and they attach a checklist so you can confirm what's in your order. (Also MVF has a few partner farms in MD/PA and it is fun to see where the items were sourced.) I was pleasantly surprised by the fine quality of every piece. For example, I am super picky when selecting apples at a market; I avoid anything bruised. The farmers apparently shared my pickiness. At times we would get items of varying size, like recently one humungous sweet potato and a couple of small ones. The quality was consistently excellent.

I have used their website to make a change to my order. Over the summer we tired of eggplant. and that's where I gave their baby ginger a shot. (A good call.) The website was easy, and every week you get an email with a link to the place where you can make changes.

This is the 4th CSA in the Baltimore area I have used. All CSAs have been good, and we like Moon Valley best. Here are some differences --

High quality of individual fruits. No bruises or seconds. You CAN order a "big bag of seconds" but it is labelled as such.

Moon Valley delivers to our porch. This is convenient and saves me a chore. They texted us on the day of, to give a two hour window for delivery (which was fairly predictable 10am-noon for my house) and then hit the window, every time.

Moon Valley packs your box with your order; you are an individual customer. For one previous CSA I picked up at a store. Sometimes I would arrive late at 8pm, and there was a stack of checklists. I found my list, then went to the boxes of veggies, and maybe heirloom tomatoes were all gone. So there could be disappointment.

The Moon Valley website is relatively easy to use. It takes very few clicks to change your upcoming order. When you do, you see a popup that confirms the change. You don't need to go check an email to confirm...

As someone who has tried numerous CSA’s, Moon Valley Farm, unequivocally, is the best!! We signed up for a year-long subscription with egg, fruit, and mushroom add-on’s and have been extremely pleased with our experience. It saves us time and money and is vastly higher quality than trying to achieve the same from a grocery store visit.

Produce & Process: Their produce is extraordinarily fresh, diverse, and their process is convenient, intuitive, and just easy. I love in particular how their weekly shares are diverse and not a flood of any one particular food group and somewhat mimic a balanced meal you’d want to see on your dinner plate. It’s been nice to have veggie favorites delivered in addition to new ones I’ve never tried….looking at you Kohlrabi!! (One of my new favs!)

The people/the farm: I can’t say enough good things about the folks at Moon Valley Farm! You can tell they put intention and meaning into everything they do. From Jeanne, the customer experience manager, who seamlessly and enthusiastically is always on her game, to our wonderful delivery driver who never waivers in their commitment….these people are awesome! While I’ve never met the farmers themselves, you can tell they prioritize delivering high quality, organic food that honors the land, the soil, our local ecosystem, the Chesapeake Bay, and our climate. They do an excellent job of giving you background on the how and why they do what they do which is so critically important in an age of little transparency about food production and supply chains….try finding that elsewhere! I’ve yet to see it!

Thank you Moon Valley Farm & your team! We appreciate...

Moon Valley Farm is an absolute gem for anyone looking to embrace local produce and support nearby farmers. Their perennial share offers a diverse array of fresh veggies and is accompanied by the convenience of easy swaps through their user-friendly website. The quality of their produce is outstanding, inspiring healthier eating habits, creativity in the kitchen, and a reduced carbon footprint.

Beyond the basics, MVF excels with a range of customizable features, from a la carte add-ons like bread, mushrooms, eggs, coffee, and more (their partnerships with other local businesses and farmers is such a treat), to flexible deliveries, and vacation holds on boxes. I love that we were able to sign up to receive our CSA every other week.

The small share with occasional add-ons is enough for our 2-person household. We signed up for this summer’s fruit CSA and I truly cannot wait!

Their informative newsletters and top-notch customer service further enhance the experience, making it a true standout in the realm of CSAs. Moon Valley Farm offers the best of both worlds - the reliability of a CSA combined with the flexibility of an online farmers market. Not to mention they are an organic and women owned farm!

I went to the strawberry festival! The strawberries were so good! We picked our own. We browsed the vendors and even bought some things from them. They also had a few different food trucks. Definitely fun and I can see this growing in the future to an even better event! I’d love to give some recommendations. To help/ give some ideas to help improve! Maybe have some people directing in the strawberry fields. Some rows were completely out( which will obviously happen) maybe put up flags to tell people which rows are good for picking. I know parking is VERY limited with spacing. But, it was a bit stressful backing up/ leaving when so many people were walking up to the vendor area on the driveway. Maybe have signs up telling people to walk in the grass area. I know this is common sense but lots of people were here and well common sense.. ya know! lol. Otherwise love supporting local and seeing local businesses thrive!

I have a lot of gratitude for Moon Valley Farm. My partner and I have enjoyed and looked forward to our produce box each week. We have both learned a lot about how fruits and veggies actually *should* look and taste, and we have gained a newfound appreciation for local, sustainable foods. Thanks to you guys, I barely have to go to the grocery store anymore and my money stays here in the community. We also found that our monthly food expenses have decreased significantly because we have so much to work with at home. P.S. Sharing a photo of one of our delicious CSA meals from this summer - roasted zucchini, tomato and mozzarella sandwich on a homemade pan de Cristal.

We couldn't be more thrilled to have found Moon Valley Farm CSA. We joined over the winter 2023 with a perennial CSA membership. Even in the winter the selection of produce has been phenomenal. We can't wait to see what the Spring and Summer bring. As a plant-based household we are able to source most of our weekly groceries from Moon Valley- including tofu! I was over the moon when I found out the carry Twin Oaks Tofu. I can't say enough great things about the farm, CSA and food they grow. Thank you Moon Valley for enabling us to source almost all of our groceries hyper-locally from small producers.
