I visited the museum today with a group of fifth and sixth grade students and we were led on a tour by Cynthia. It was by far the most informative tour I have ever been on, in any city or museum. The complex history of Angel Island was presented to our group in a clear, honest, and academic way. Cynthia knew the answer to every question we asked and was able to provide background knowledge as well as several nuanced perspectives. The immigration museum is a bit newer building and used to be the hospital for the detention center. The museum has some good exhibits on immigration and stories of past people and immigration.
