Great little gem of a beach hidden between oceanside & the lighthouse.
Off/shoulder hwy parking is the only parking available. So know that spaces are ALWAYS limited. & locals will scream at you if you dare park in their driveways lol
No public bathrooms available.
Semi-kid friendly. As the entrance is a large set of stairs down the cliffside. There is some direct cliff drop spots without fencing/railing so if you have littles that like to run please be careful & keep them close.
Great place for sunset captures & agate hunting when the tide is low. Great place for a bit of rock climbing as well. There is a known cave on the far left side of the beach if you climb over the rocks - but it's ONLY available when the tide is very low..please don't attempt to go to the cave when the tide is high or even coming in. You will get trapped & probably killed by the tide.
Unfortunately my biggest con about this lovely beach is the limited parking.. best times to go would be early morning(6-9am) or late afternoon/night(7-10pm). Weekends are very concentrated with tourists unless it's been raining. My biggest pro is that this, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful beaches in tillamook county..(which makes the tourism a bit more understanding) & it's hands down the best beach for...
Read moreAbsolutely stunning! I went here as part of a day trip with my boyfriend a few days ago and it was incredibly beautiful (and a wee bit romantic, heh). There's not an official parking lot for this beach, you just kind of pull off to the side near the trail head leading down to the beach, so be on the lookout for it. The trail head is a bit easy to miss! There's quite a few pathways down to the beach, each with their own set of stairs: be careful though, the stairs aren't all that even abd i nearly tripped on the way down. The first part of the beach is rocky and a bit slippery due to the loose rocks, but you could find some stunning rocks in there if you look hard enough! Then you get to the beautiful sandy part of the beach. The sand is incredibly soft and quite pretty. You could easily shoot a photo op out there. There's also plenty of wildlife that you could watch. Watch for sand fleas though!! One last thing and that's the waterfall- it's very pretty and it creates a little river leading to the ocean. I definitely recommend coming here! You won't...
Read moreOh, how I love this place in winter. It's wild, treacherous, and full of beautiful chalcedony chunks and green jasper. On my last visit in September 2025, I was happy to see they have nearly finished rebuilding the steps to the beach, which had been rotting away. They've also added hand rails for safety, as the steps are steep. This is NOT an ADA-friendly beach: There's only one way down, via steep steps. It's helpful to check tide charts, especially in winter, to ensure that there's enough beach to walk upon. Good, waterproof boots with ankle support are important, since you'll be walking on loose rock at times. There's a port-a-potty at the top of the steps and only roadside parking, which fills up during the weekend and after good winter storms, when the agate-picking is best. The cliffs surrounding the beach are prone to rockslides, so keep your distance. Last week, there was a huge, fresh pile of rock that had fallen from the southernmost cliff. Not a great place for toddlers, but beautiful and so...
