Tillamook State Forest is one of the most beatiful, fun, breathtaking forest I have ever had the privilege to travel and hike through. It has miles of hiking trails, abandoned railroads, waterfalls, rivers and lakes. The camp grounds are many and spectacular. Swimming holes are abundant and full of clear blue green water. Carved stone stairways lead up to carved out stone bath houses with waterfalls cascading down around them. Natural small islands in the rivers are connected by wood bridges to the highway so you can pull over, get out of your vehicle and explore. It's one of my most visited areas where I find new sights and hidden wonders every time I pass...

Some of the trails aren’t well-marked, which made navigation a little tricky at times, but thankfully there were maps posted in certain areas that really helped us find our way. The place is huge, so it’s easy to get turned around if you’re not familiar with the layout—definitely recommend bringing a GPS or downloading a map beforehand. All in all, a great spot for off-roading and exploring...
