One of the better tubing business around town. The business offers a beautiful environment at base they sell the experience which includes in price tube rental , life vest, and short bus trip up river! They have a snack area and also a store in which u can purchase tubing accessories such as rope and waterproof cases and locker rentals. They offer 3 tubing options: a 2 hour ,3 hour or 4 hour tubing experience on the Delaware river all of which are the same price. Expect to pay between 15 and 20 dollars a person, kids are slightly cheaper and they offer group rates, you can find online coupons to knock off about 5 bucks per person. Their is a small parking fee ( REALLY?) and the lot is gravel... WATER SHOES STRONGLY RECOMMENDED FOR THE ENTIRE DAY. Do not wear good sneakers in the river they will never smell the same!
From a customer of many trips here are my recommendations. Bring your own rope, stop at a local dollar store around your house (nothing is around the tubing place) and purchase rope to tie tubes together if you don't want to drift which will happen if not tied. Dog leaches work equally well. Bring 2 sandwich size Ziploc bags to place any car fob s or cell phones in to avoid paying locker fees which are I believe 5 bucks for a small locker if i remember correct. The time of experience they sell is rarely precise because currents on the river vary. On average from many trips to this business the 4 hour lasts about 3 hours (done it in 2.5 with heavy currents) , the 3 hour lasts about 2 hours and the 2 hr last about 1.5 hours. They provide a variety of tubes which are included in price, IF U HAVE KIDS GRAB TUBE WITH NET BOTTOMS YOU WON'T REGRET IT. They do have double tubes. They provide life vests. The tubes provided have a map of the river printed on the tube showing path youbcan take, islands and rapid locations. The river depth on average is about 2.5-4 ft and gets as low as 1-2 ft even in the middle and has a rocky bottom( I'm a good swimmer and I use my life vest as a cushion in the tube center to sit on , grab a extra one they have plenty), the river at some parts does get to about 6-7 feet at the center, I'm 6ft-4in and few parts I can go under, I usually spend my time off my tube floating down river , very peaceful !!!
IF U R A THRILL SEEKER ... GO A DAY OR 2 AFTER HEAVY RAINFALL FOR FAST CURRENTS .
I hope this helps you folks and I would certainly recommend this business as a wonderful day trip. Don't worry it's sage to bring children from 3 yrs...
Read moreWe had a great day on the river tubing for about 3 hours. I'd say the ticket purchase experience online was simple - we liked how you could pay for parking & keys online, as well as sign the waiver ahead of time. It made check in very simple when we arrived.
The staff were all friendly and helpful, mostly youth, but overall warm, welcoming and wishing us a good time, etc. It was a casual, summer river vibe all around.
The river ride itself was calm and peaceful. They coach you to stay to the left (NJ side) to avoid shallow parts, etc which we did, but the entire river seemed calm and easeful. There were a few small rapids, but nothing crazy or scary. You could see the bottom of the river most of the way and it seemed clear and nice. Bottom is slippery so definitely water shoes!
We booked the 9am on a Sunday and are SO GLAD we did. It was not crowded and we floated in the company of 2 other small groups of adults, and THAT WAS IT! We loved having the river to ourselves! When we returned, the lot was packed and the lines were LONG, it was loud and full of families and teens. So, if you're a quiet loving person who wants to enjoy a peaceful river ride, book the 9am or early spots! (Bonus was it rained in the afternoon and they ended up closing early, so we beat the crowds AND the rain!)
My only con and the reason I would not 5 star is the bathroom situation, which are merely a row of port-o-potties. I understand this is an outdoorsy activity similar to camping and that most of us, myself included, can handle nature-steeped port-o-potties - I've done it dozens of times. However for the cost of $108 for 2 people (tubes + parking+ keys), and simply the fact that it's a Bucks County business which is a very well-off area, I'd expect to see actual restroom facilities that are clean, with sinks, receptacles, etc. Especially for the women who may need and prefer hygienic bathrooms in order to handle their cycles before spending a few hours on the water. Any woman knows that if we go prior to arriving on site, we very likely may need to go again before getting in the water for a few hours, so using the facilities on site is helpful. We were only in town for a short time, so did not have the luxury of booking other dates. So, for the sake of the women and girls especially, I'd vote for real bathroom facilities!
Overall, definitely recommend if you love a summer...
Read moreThe good: fairly inexpensive, they provide what you need (tube and lifejacket and bus ride to a spot), our bus driver was awesome and most of the workers were nice. Plenty of busses running.
The bad: they nickel and dime you with parking (which is required), then an additional $3 to hold your keys (when the website says $2, thankfully we had an extra buck on us or would have had to run back to the car), $2-$6 for straps to hold tubes together, etc. Almost zero actual guidance on the tubing, how to get in, if you can get in, etc. They just help you across the street and point to some stairs. Port O potties instead of any real bathrooms (thankfully we went during the week so since the crowds were light and it was earlier in the day they were relatively clean.)
The Ugly:
1.The "changing rooms" were NASTY! People had just tossed masks, used bathing suits, wipes, etc. on the floor or benches which were already dirty. I realize that's partly on the other tubers but the company really needs to clean in there, not to mention it's nothing more than a shack with some torn plastic shower curtains dangling with room for two people at most.
If you order food be prepared to wait for A LONG TIME. We had pre-ordered the meal deals and even though only one other group of 4 had ordered before us it took over 45 minutes to get our food because they only had one guy in there taking orders and cooking. (To be fair, he was offered help by another staff member and turned it down!) But it was a ridiculous wait on a low crowd day sitting in the heat and of course the hot dogs were then WAY overcooked because he was busy taking orders after ours...
Overall we might go back because the river WAS nice and you get the bare minimum for that but would be prepared to get food elsewhere and doing something else about changing...probably just in our car would be more private and certainly cleaner...I understand they need ways to make money but I would pay more for even slightly better...
