In June I visited Governor Printz Park for the first time in years since it has been renovated. I was very delighted to see the lovely picturesque appearance that brings new life to an old gem tucked away for many years in this little old town called Tinicum Township. It was very inviting to sit inside one of the 4 Gazebos that are placed throughout the park. The view of the water front as the boats were passing by was so relaxing as I listened to a local Jazz artist who was playing his saxophone. This is a nice place for the kids to cool off under the new sprinklers on a hot summer day or have a picnic lunch under the shady trees. I would definitely recommend adult supervision for small children with the river being so close by. There is a huge fire pit built on a concrete area inside the park which may be for fall bonfires. I even saw a small amphitheater for summer concerts situated close by the river. Several times during the summer they have vendors with delicious food and crafts to buy. This National historic landmark about Tinicum Island & Royal Governor Prince Park dating back to 1643 has some fun facts displayed throughout the park. There’s even more to see when visiting this historical community Park that you are...

Een going here for h Yrs.usually love it...so much to choose from..vender friendly....this yr because of illness walked which I don't do very well.. Directly to picnic tables by music....always love atmosphere there...by the time I got to it .I was wobbly and faint.. needed to sit while husband went to get us food and drink...I stopped at 5 tables of which not one had more then 2 people seated....everyone of them told me sorry these seats are all taken....rude ignorant uncaring individuals...I hope they never need a seat... we left....1st of season and we most likely won't go back....I dony want to be near rude individuals like them....all of them....not one compassionate person there....I do.hope those in charge read this and do something about every table being saved with noone eating or drinking at any of them....should not be permitted to hold entire table and every seat...it was crowded...could have been long time before theire entire group arrived. Very sad sight on opening night....I have told many friends and all have gone but I will now be telling them them...

Update 9/2/2022 Unfortunately, the splash pad is closed until further notice; I'm guessing because of the drought we are in. My kids are so disappointed. We only got to enjoy the Splash Pad once in 2019, when it first opened.

Update 8/2021 Due to Covid and kids not yet able to be vaccinated, the splash pad is still turned off. My kids were disappointed once again but at least they could play at the playground, walk along the water and explore the rest of the park.

Update: 7/2020 Due to the Corona Virus, the Splash Pad is turned off, much to the disappointment of my two school aged kids. Hope the virus is gone by next summer so my kids can enjoy the spalsh pad again.

9/2019 The splash pad was a blast for my kids. They loved the buckets of water that would drop on them and the water that sprays up from the ground. They loved spinning the carousel of water too. There's two playgrounds right next to the splash pad, 1 is for toddlers and 1 is for older kids. We haven't explored further but we will. Wish I'd known about this place sooner than Labor day...

A local gem by the river, on the island. Yep, an island between water ways. The park has been modernized a bit but still has its peaceful charm. The river breezes are wonderful, and provide a natural relief during muggy summer days. The view of the water and boats bobbing in the sunlight is so peaceful. There is free parking. In Fall there is a celebration. It has been attended by the original people, the Lenape. Also by Swedish leaders. Food, music, crafts, presentations and fun! It is a great peaceful location.
