I camped on Tionesta lake in June of 22. I have camped there in the past. This lake is a very quiet and serene place. It’s a productive fishing lake when the water level is stable. In the spring and early summer, it’s not stable. It goes down several inches daily. So the shoreline recedes. That makes it hard to locate the fish. And it makes the fish not bite. There are not any trails to hike. There’s a few paths. It’s a pretty rugged wilderness. There’s a lot of birds. There are coyotes. Mind your dog. You don’t have to leash your dog. Just don’t attract the attention of the coyotes and you won’t know they exist. The boat launch is kind of steep. The stairs up to the parking lot are brutal. There are free life vests. There is a beach. It’s free. No camp site number posts. No charges...
