I had never heard of this place. I was surprised to find out it's an island in the middle of the Cedar River in very rural Cedar county. Closest town is Cedar Bluff. Population:small. This preserve is only accessible by boat. It's worth a look if only to see the few trees on it. The nearby sandbar seems to have been visited by locals as remnants of a bonfire there.
