Very nice park. Large and with a wide variety of facilities for multiple sports. Probably not a softball or baseball site I would recommend for very small children however. There is a nearby sky diving center and thus a steady supply of parachutes and people slowly drifting down to earth. Probably a little too distracting for the smallest age groups. Great spot for midrange and older teams though!
Back again, and field conditions have fallen considerably. Infields are now very soft and sandy, and there appears to be very little upkeep. No maintenance between games, so fields deteriorate quickly. Park didn't even turn on the lights this morning so about a hundred kids and parents just standing around in the dark waiting for the sun to come up. Perhaps the city is having financial issues and reduced staffing? Still, a little embarrassing for...
Read moreThis is an athlete's dream. Baseball, softball, soccer; pretty much any sport you need to practice, there is a field for it here. Most of the parking lots are paved, but the one next to the trailhead is dirt; which is surprising considering about 80% of the trail is cement. The winding road through the complex has narrow speed bumps that you might not be expecting, even though driving the speed limit. My husband and I enjoyed photographing the cute bridges over the ponds (I would call them ponds more than lakes) that were part of the trail. Atop the lookout (up a few flights of stairs), you can see the river, lakes, and Parrish Hospital -I highly recommend this photo spot! There are also two playgrounds, public restrooms, and tons of picnic tables; this would be a fun place to spend the day for a family...
Read moreI started running at Chain of Lakes about a year-and-a-half ago. Definitely one of my favorite places here in Titusville, and I'm lucky enough to live only a mile away. It's a great place for jogging, biking, taking a nice walk by the lake, and there are so many animals. Definitely a lot of gators hanging out on the shore and cruising around in the water, but they never bother anyone. Two playgrounds, soccer fields, softball diamonds. Also some nice picnic areas. Whether you are into taking a walk in nature, just getting outside on a nice day and enjoying the weather, nature photography, working out, or just getting some well-needed Zen time, this really is a fantastic place. A lot of people also go fishing here. Make sure to check out the Watchtower as well, as it gives fantastic views of...
