Bosque De Punta Salinas and Balneario Playa Punta Salinas in Toa Baja, 🇵🇷 🏐 This public beach has it all! A sand soccer field, beach volleyball, basketball, fishing, shade, picnic gazeebos, lifeguards, bathrooms, showers, and a snack shack with beach chairs and umbrella rental. We saw peddal paddle boats in storage, so hopefully, that will be an option soon. ⛱️There is plenty of space to have some privacy. The beach is a long crescent situated on an islet, and the water is calm and protected here. The sand itself is pretty hard and compact and darker brown in color (almost like a black sand beach). The beach is great for paddle ball! 🌴 The forest (Bosque de Punta Salinas)is a nice walk along the side of some beautiful calm water lakes that hold gorgeous reflections of the palms and pine trees. We saw a lot of birds and wildlife in this estuary. You can get to the beach from this trail. It's about a 10 minute walk. ⚠️ On the east side of the bay, where there is fishing and the tide washes everything up, there is a lot of trash. ♻️ 🗑 When you go, bring an extra large trash bag and do your part in cleaning up, protecting, and cherishing Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 🏃♀️ Go the extra mile, organize a beach cleanup, and demonstrate what Puerto Rico means to you ❤️ 🐢 Manatee's and sea turtle's are on the west side of the islet, keep your...
Read moreIf you want to just enjoy being on a beach (without loud music or people) with just yourself, the sand, and the ocean, then this beach is for you. It is located on an islet on the north coast. The protected side has lifeguards on duty for the swimming area. The other side (facing Old San Juan) has with plenty of wind and waves. However swimming is not allowed. The beach sand is very fine with a tinge of beige to it. When we went on a Saturday morning there was seaweed on parts of the beach. But there still was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and have their own spot. Outdoor showers are available to rinse off. However, the bathroom facilities are "functional" but honestly terrible. (Be sure to bring your own toilet paper!) Overall, it is a pretty decent way to...
Read moreWe are staying at the “dolphin house PR” in Toa Baja. This beach is within walking distance of the community Camino Del Mar and it’s a fantastic public local beach with potential. There is still obvious hurricane damage throughout the park but there is a local grant that has been put in place to help reestablish the vitality of the beach. In times this will get back to it glory. With that stead is still fun to spend the day with the family with a cold waters and the ability to explore local reef and sea creatures. Definitely a must see. At the moment you must enter in the exit portion of the park and drive on the left-hand side of the road until you enter the gate that has no security...
