Very unprofessional staff. We visit the wineries around Helen Ga quite frequently and always enjoy our visits. On this particular day I decided to take eight of my family members to the Creekstone Winery in Helen and stop by the Currahee winery on our way back home, we were excited to hear of the new winery because it is only half the distance from our home versus the wineries in Helen. Unfortunately our experience was not a good one. When arriving we asked where the rest rooms are located and was told they are located in a small building on the other side of the parking lot, while waiting on my wife and sister to return from their journey to the restroom the other six of us were looking over the tasting menu ( maybe 4-5 minutes) when I was asked what I would like to try, to which I answered that I was the designated driver so I personally wasn’t drinking and we were waiting on the rest of our party. At this juncture I was VERY RUDLEY ask to move out of the way so he could serve other quest! I tried to explain that we were all together and were planning on doing seven tastings at $10 a person and depending on what the ladies liked probably purchase multiple bottles as we had did at the other wineries we visited earlier that day. However he was persistent that I move so I did I gathered everyone up and left. Little did this gentleman know that I was the one driving and the man with the money. What’s so confusing to me is that there was NO one waiting behind us. Who knows maybe we caught them on a bad day either way I will not...
Read moreThis winery has made a name for itself, but is still in its early stages. By that, I mean it is literally in someone's backyard. The tasting is currently performed in what used to be the garage of the home. The wines are in many more tasting rooms in the region now and have really begun to expand and become more well-known. The plan is already in motion to build a true wine tasting room on the property. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and quite helpful. You have a choice of tastings. You may also have a glass or bottle of wine or a wine slushie. Now, I have had several wine slushies at other wineries, and none of them were as good as what I had here. The only grapes grown on the property are muscadine grapes. They do, however, offer quite a nice variety of wines, sure to please most palates. Everyone has their favorite from sweeter reds or whites to drier wines or dessert wines. They have them all. It is definitely worth stopping by. I would recommend waiting for the hot weather to cool down some since you will be sitting outside. There is no food here, but you are welcome to bring your picnic basket, crock pot or Hibachi grill with you. They do offer live entertainment from 2 to 5 so that is...
Read moreWOW! Anniv. trip to Toccoa and we had to hit this place up and we are blessed we did! Felt like being around family! Mike and Brandi were awesome behind the bar, knowledgeable about the wines and area and a heck of alot of fun! We got to meet the owner which was a blessing, what an amazing man! We did the wine tasting and tried 10 different varieties. I have never been to a winery where I like so many of their flavors. Even found a red I liked, which is shocking for me. The peach was my fav, so delicious and they make it with no added sugar which is such a relief! Who does that? They watermelon, strawberry, blueberry and blackberry were all delicious as well. They even have a wine dedicated in memory to Michael Monsoor a navy Seal, infantry soldier. Ask them about the story it is so heart warming. They have an amazing view from the porch and they had live music. This was our favorite part of our Anniv. weekend. We left with a full heart and a case of wine :) and we will enjoy it all! Next time in the area we will be back! If you like wine, relaxing and a great view check...
